The Fairmont Royal York

A Welcome Return

This was our second time staying at the Royal York. The first time was about 20 years ago. It was spectacular then, it is even more spectacular now. We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms which was both contemporary and comfortable. Every area of the hotel was well maintained and clean. The staff was outstanding and very accommodating. We even requested a room change for one with more of a view and the Front Desk did it without hesitation. The Concierge were spot on with their restaurant recommendations. The hotel’s location is perfect for getting anywhere quickly and easily. Transit and underground pedestrian concourses made it simple to get everywhere regardless of the weather. This is a hotel that I would recommend over and over again.

Super 8 Downtown Toronto

Horrible Parking

Hotel was near the Air Canada Centre which is why I booked here. The rooms were nice, clean, the staff there was really friendly, there was breakfast in the morning so that was a plus. Being that this hotel is in downtown Toronto the parking situation was horrible, at least for us. The parking garage for one did not have a working elevator. So we had to walk 3 flights of stairs with luggage and our dog just to get on the street and walk to the entrance, where you take another elevator up to the lobby. Because we were staying there three days you have the option to get a parking pass/badge to go in and out of the garage as you please, this particular pass did not work for us, we were given two passes and both of them did not work, making us stuck in the garage while one of us went to the lobby and got a ticket pass instead. Other than that our stay at this hotel was decent and would recommend if you're doing anything downtown.
