Excellent location, close to Tottenham Court Road Station so perfect for a trip to Central London. This place is definitely 'no-frills'. That includes no mattress or pillow protectors. On the subject of laundry, the duvet cover, sheets and towels had many hairs. I know it's been cleaned and didn't matter to me, but perhaps not somewhere for the squeamish. The communal areas, corridors etc. Smelled very bad. To be entirely frank, it smelled like sewers. Luckily this didn't extend into my room. The plumbing in my room made very loud and strange noises after running the tap or shower. I hope this didn't disturb my neighbour. I didn't rate the customer service very highly. I was passing the hotel a couple hours before check in and thought I'd ask if my room was ready on the off-chance. The lady at the desk actually laughed which, even if she'd been asked that question a hundred times that day, wasn't a reasonable response. Upon check out I wasn't asked if I'd enjoyed my stay either. £15 per bag for left luggage also seems excessive, especially with a relatively early 10am checkout time. Unlike other reviewers, I found the WiFi acceptable and must have been in a quieter room as I wasn't disturbed by the underground trains at all.

Clean and tidy, compact rooms and 5 levels underground, you'll be surprised. The rooms are quiet and comfortable, if not super spacious. You might struggle with the floor level beds, which are low but very comfortable once you get to them. Friendly helpful service at the reception level, but limited signage at the street level entryway. Keep your eyes peeled!

I’ve stayed at several Zedwell locations and I definitely prefer them to this one. You can really, really hear the tubes. And it’s not just every now and then, it’s very regular. If you’re a light sleeper I wouldn’t recommend this one - try the Piccadilly Circus one instead which is much quieter in the rooms and you don’t hear anything from the tubes as you’re not as deep underground as this is. The rooms are on -4 and -5 at this one.

Small but perfect

The hotel is in a great location right by TCR station and was perfect for a couple of days seeing shows and exploring central London. The rooms were small but clean, and at night the room is pitch dark which made for an excellent nights sleep. You could hear the tubes running a little bit, but it wasn’t enough to keep us up. Would definitely book again!
