There was no view from the room - it looked out over a spiral staircase and brick walls.
The lobby was welcoming, as was its staff, and they kindly accommodated my early check-in request. The room was tastefully decorated, comfortable, and secure.

This is not a 4 star hotel by American standards. More like 3. The interior of the hotel does not match its facade. The hotel is well-past its need for remodeling, especially the carpeting. Dust ringed heavily on the carpeted edges of our room (and in the halls). The beds were lumpy and bedding itchy. I could go on. If you're looking for a nice, clean hotel for your London stay, look elsewhere.
There's no security in this hotel. As a female it didn't sit well w me. I was w my husband and we considered changing hotels. There were some middle eastern men that seemed very shady. They seemed to follow me around a lot and I had to be careful when walking to my room alone. They even questioned me why I was married to an American (white male). They were also questioning why I live in America and not in the Middle East. I am of middle eastern heritage so it's not a predjudice thing, but I'm an American . But they seemed veryyyy shady. They didn't seem to like that I was American. I would stay at a different hotel where there would be more security. when we checked out and asked how our stay was we told them so they took money off of our bill which was appreciated, but still didn't feel safe at night. Made me think of the movie Taken. As a female, I felt uneasy.. which normally I'm very easy going.
we paid for this hotel thru orbitz only to find upon arrival that no rooms were available. while they did provide a room at another hotel same owners, it still was not very professional way to treat guests. even worse, it appears the other hotel listed lower rates than we paid at this hotel, so apparently very sneaky too.

This Hotel was centrally located near Piccadilly Circus, Buckingham palace, shopping and transportation. Staff was friendly the rooms were clean it restaurants across the street if I was to visit London again I would highly recommend staying in the same place! The concierge was there to help us with directions advice and anything we needed and went out of their way to look up on the Internet and Bing phone calls for us .
The whole experience of the Washington Mayfair was great. My only complaint was the uncomfortable bed. It seemed to be no more than box springs. You could actually feel them.
Great location-7 minutes from Buckingham Palace and close to Oxford Circus. Quiet rooms, noisy hallways, easy tesco/market across the street for water and snacks. A block and half from the Green Park tube station made it an easy overnighter for girls night. Great and easy for kids!

Our room reeked of smoke (and it was on a non-smoking floor). The beds and pillows were awful. The doors are very heavy and slam shut all night and morning, which is obnoxious. Great location though, just very uncomfortable.
