I had a wonderful, restful stay at the Ampersand. It's accommodations are wonderful, it's in a nice area, plenty of fun places to eat, including the hotel's restaurant, and the underground is close.

Excellent hotel, convenient right across from tube station. Comfortable bed.

We loved our stay at the Ampersand. minor hiccup that the air conditioning isn't quite strong enough to handle a heat wave but other than that, the staff, amenities, the room...all amazing!!

The Ampersand has a great location near the South Kensington Underground stop and includes nice touches such as a cell phone you can take with you during the day and make international calls from. Staff are courteous and rooms are comfortable.

Beautifully appointed and excellent location. Lots of eating establishments close by. South Kensington underground station within a few minutes walk. Convenient access to/from Heathrow airport. Room was a bit tight but amenities were excellent.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel on an anniversary trip to London and were very pleased at the accommodations. The staff was pleasant and very informative, especially given the explanations necessary for our high-tech room. The room was smaller than a comparable U.S. hotel room, but not by much. Everything in the room was clean and we never heard a sound during our stay, except for when we opened the window to listen to the sounds of London in the early morning. The hotel is perfectly situated next to the South Kensington subway (London Underground) station, as well as right next to multiple bus stops, making getting around the city easy. A very useful tool was the Handi smartphone (Android) available in our room, which allowed us to have unlimited calling to local and US destinations, as well as unlimited data for various apps such as navigation, useful when taken out into the City. This was a big perk... one that should have been advertised more (as I would not have bought a separate, local SIM card on arrival to the UK). The only negative experience I had was with the responsiveness of the hotel staff, as on three different occasions I made a request to the front desk and they either failed to respond or deliver. For example, requested a clothes iron & ironing board (didn't deliver; had to request again hours later) or requested to book an afternoon tea for the following day (they were going to have someone call my room to arrange, but it never happened).

This is a terrific hotel located near the South Kensington tube station. The hotel rooms are very comfortable, with nice beds and large bathrooms. There is not a lot of closet or other storage space (including bathroom counter space) but otherwise the hotel is just wonderful. The minibar is free and you get a phone to use for free in London (we didn't use it but could have). There are great restaurants nearby and it was easy to get to every other place we wanted to go in London. I highly recommend staying here.

The hotel is very nice and well located. Across the street from the South Kensington tube station and walking distance to attractions and restaurants. Rooms are small but functional and clean. Breakfast and afternoon are delicious.

Not only did they manage to give us early check-in, but The Ampersand staff were friendly and helpful the rooms were comfortable and stylish we had a rubber duck in our bathtub.

We stayed at the Ampersand two years ago and were impressed with the hotel, the location and the always helpful staff. We recommended the hotel to friends who were equally impressed. So when it came time for another visit to London this was our first choice. We were traveling with friends and the four of us have only good things to say about this lovely little hotel. The staff helped us book transport from our cruise ship to the hotel and then to the airport and offered assistance with anything we needed. We had a lovely dinner with friends from London in the Apero Restaurant, the snug with seating for four was a great way to linger so we could catch up with our old friends. I highly recommend the Ampersand.

First trip to London for our wedding anniversary. Nice hotel high end hotel. Great location in South Kensington. Only drawback was that the room was small.

We stayed here part for business and part pleasure. The hotel is an incredible boutique hotel with a great atmosphere, incredibly clean, comfortable and wonderful staff. The Underground is half a block away which was very convenient. I would definitely recommend and we certainly be back!

The Ampersand is conveniently located at the intersection of three tube lines. The comfort level is very high. The standard bed rooms are small with little storage space but the baths are large and well appointed. Tip: you have to put the room key into the slot inside the door to activate all powered systems. Also, the AC was a bit spotty. Subway noise on the fourth floor was tolerable. We probably would stay here again. We frequented two convenient restaurants: Muriel's, across the intersection, for breakfast/brunch, and La Bouchee, a delightful, cozy French restaurant two blocks away.

We had a very comfortable stay at the Ampersand. You couldn't ask for a more convenient location - steps from the South Kensington underground, loads of eateries and a 5 minute walk to museums. This was a great base. Tastefully decorated, a new feel with classic elegance. I loved the heated bathroom floor and great shower. We'll recommend it .

Had a wonderful stay at The Ampersand. Rooms are a little small, but most are in England. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel was very well kept. Extremely close to the South Kensington tube station and bus/taxi stops directly in front of the hotel. Extremely pleased with our stay.

This hotel is awesome. It is conveniently located. Rooms can’t get any better, comfortable and clean. Transportation around does provide easy access to the city. This hotel is highly recommended. Negative: School is next to the hotel where morning activities bring some sleep disruption.

This is a very nice, relatively small hotel in a central location. The rooms are decorated with a sense for style, and everything was just remodeled. Staff is very helpful and friendly. I'd pick this any time over a large-chain hotel, as it has some personality. Only minor drawback is that the hallways are relatively narrow - which is a result of the old building. Another nice touch: I had taken a juice from the minibar, and expected to pay quite a bit for it (usually charges for even water are horrendous), but was surprised at check-out when they told me the soft drinks are free!

On our trip to the UK, we stayed in three hotels total. The Ampersand was, by far, our favorite of the three. The staff was so helpful and the whole time we were there we felt right at home. We were so sad to leave!

Small but very comfortable room. Not enough closet space for 2 people. Friendly accommodating staff. Nice lobby. Great location. Recommended.

The hotel itself is beautiful and the room was also great - I got the Deluxe Room and the size was relatively fine but the closet space was pretty much non-existent but I get it bc it was a older building that was transformed but I do wish there was a place that I could have hung my coat. I hear the single or double rooms are ridiculously small so the upgrade is definitely worth it! The staff were pretty helpful but I thought they could have been a bit friendlier - a smile and a hello goes along way with me. I did not have a chance to go to Apero but the sitting room is absolutely charming and the perfect p,ace for tea and sweets. Initially they gave me a room on the ground floor but I asked to be switched to avoid street noise so they gave a room a floor up (1st floor) and it was still a bit noisy which I did not mind as I live in the city but the one thing that did wake me or kept me from falling asleep was the rumble of the tube below the hotel - I am not sure whether or not a room on a higher floor and towards the rear of the property would cure these things; there were a couple nights that I did not eat continuous sleep and by the time I did it was already early morning and unfortunately woke up at 2 pm so I did lose a lot of time that I could have used touring the city. Speaking of the tube - the location near the South Kensington station is excellent - that is key when touring London! Even then, it is a great walkable area. Would I go back...yes but I would request a room on a higher floor and towards the back of the property and CROSS MY FINGERS that this cures my issues.
