The room was ok, the hotel was a bit dated, but interesting with the history. The girl who checked us in on Friday 23rd was absolutely rude and unhelpful. We had 6 pieces of luggage between us and there was no offer for help, no greeting, etc. I was incredibly disappointed as this is supposed to be a more luxe experience.

The hotel was beautiful. The staff was so kind and accommodating. Great location, and delicious food. The rooms were spotless and I loved the mini bars included in the rooms which included restocked refreshments for no extra cost, quality bottled water chips, tea and cookies. This is definitely a 5 star hotel and I’d visit them again.

Hotel just needs a little TLC, it has the makings of somrthing great but the little touches let it down, coffee cup stained furniture, not fully working toilet, the hotel has the potential to be great but currently it is just mediocre and lost in so many hotels in the area which are better.

Our first room 314 was the noisiest room I have ever stayed in due apparently to the air conditioning units directly above it. The sound was so loud is was vibrating through us. The staff offered us earbuds!!!! This is meant to be a 5 star hotel. Eventually, after saying there weren't any other rooms due to the hotel being full. Magically one was found and at 11:45 I was shown the room just past the reception. Immediately it was obvious this room wasn't being rented due to the damp smell that hit me. I suggested this was not a suitable alternative and they were sorry about the smell but could solve that by spraying air freshener around!! Like that was going to deal with damp! Therefore we had no choice but to stay in our first room (314), eventually having to accept earplugs as a solution, in what is meant to be 5 star hotel!!! After a terrible 3 hrs night's sleep we were then offered a new room which ended up being fine and at least quiet to sleep in after our 20th anniversary meal at the Shard on the Saturday. On checking out they asked if the stay had been nice and I said that the Friday night had been horrible and the response I got back was "Yes that's why we move rooms for you the second night", no apology at all, just rude. Trust me stay somewhere else, there are plenty of better hotels on the area. We have stayed all over the world and this has been the worst hotel stay to date!
