We have stayed here before as its location to the tube line is excellent. Our room was spacious and clean but a little dated , unfortunately the railway line was close to our room so we heard a lot of trains all through the night. Breakfast was offered at 10 which we would have had if we had more time.

Was unfortunately disappointed with our room, and the response to our questions when speaking with staff. The front desk staff was kind, and understood (if not related to) how bad things were, but nothing substantial was done. They all seemed to act as if this was normal for their hotel, and only had bandaids (so to speak), not solutions. The room was falling apart, and not suitable for two people. Some issues that were all present when we arrived: - mold on the ceiling in the bathroom (which housekeeping said “happens when you shower” and wouldn’t clean) - stained and scratched up walls - Holes that are barely patched up - Smells of wet stains - only one chair, and so stained we couldn’t sit on it - asked for another chair, but it was also incredibly stained - Needed to put towels on top of the chairs to sit on them - Closet’s hangers were mostly broken and missing pieces - Fridge door broken - the inside of door was missing a piece so nothing could be kept in the door - Fridge had huge clump of crusted ice in it that dripped and created a puddle, making our food wet - the maintenance guy who came to look at the fridge just put a towel in it, no fixing could be done - Two of the lights do not work - we asked for extra sheets and one we were given was soiled - When housekeeping came in, they took away the one clean sheet we had It just felt like we really struggling to be there, without any other option and would never stay there again.

I had a lot issues with this hotel. 1. Faulty TV where many channels didn’t work and the picture would freeze and break up. 2. No hot water in the basin  3. No working WiFi in room 181 4. Bed very uncomfortable  5. Room not clean  6. Door faulty and would not close properly and security did knock on my door to tell me it wasn’t closed correctly. I was told by Expedia to contact the front desk. I spoke to a nice girl called Payal who tried to help me with the room issues and went back to ask the manager to speak to me but he refused. I couldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone as they have no interest in the guests being happy. The room issues were 1. Faulty TV 2. No hot water in the basin  3. No working WiFi in room 181 4. Bed very uncomfortable  5. Room not clean  6. Door faulty and would not close properly and security did knock on my door to tell me it wasn’t closed correctly.

Copthorne Tara honest review

Reception staff were very helpful and accommodating. Our Club room was spacious and clean. Should have received two bath robes but only had one. Reported to maid however she didn’t get another one for us. Lovely, large soft bath towels. I would suggest have soap dispenser at the sink rather than bars of soap. Received a voucher at check in which stated receive free cake and hot drink which was a lovely extra. It also stated we would received sweet on arrival… was told this would be a chocolate in the room of some kind but not received anything. Had only one smallest bottle of water given in the room during our stay where as my sister received four large glass bottles of water. Wasn’t aware until check out. No biscuits either with tea and coffee making facilities. I did mention it was my nieces birthday but nothing was offered. We did manage to get an early check in which was brilliant and we were grateful for. Good selection at breakfast but the eggs were cold and looked like they had sat there for a while. A new tray of eggs were put out which looked lovely but were cold (I think came straight out of a fridge). The sausage didn’t look very appetising, otherwise ok. The toilets in the ground floor were smelly sewage, a member of staff there think a cleaner who just stood starring not sure what she was doing. There were lots of little black flies on the ceiling and walls, which made me feel dirty. Great location, great communication before arrival.

The Copthorne Tara Hotel, has such a welcoming group of people working in to help the guests in general. The facility is somewhat updated but the atmosphere isn’t bad at all. I will certainly book again. I felt safe and relaxed.

The hotel was fine. For the price you pay and the location it’s decent value for money. But as others have said in reviews, the rooms are tired. Two of our lights didn’t work at all, and the whole room set went down at some point which had to be reset. Little touches like having a bedside table lamp wouldn’t have gone amiss. Tv channels pretty minimal. Shower was nice and hot and bed was pretty comfortable. We could hear the tube rumbling every time it went past. And it was definitely not a city view ! Staff on reception very nice and helpful. Location was good for Kensington high street and tube which made a difference at the end of a long walking day in London.

We booked 2 rooms for our group and we requested them beside each other which was honoured and much appreciated. The hotel is perfectly located in a quiet area very close the public transport links. Ideal for easy access for day sight seeing. Rooms were a decent size and very clean. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast had many options. We didnt eat lunch or dinner as we were out most of the day. Would definitely return.

I like the area where the hotel was, it was nice close to Kensington park and lots of shops and eatery’s. the hotel lobby is well presented unfortunately our room didn’t meet this standard being when we got there our toilet wouldn’t flushed kept running which was noisey and took a lot of communications back and fourth to finally get somebody to fix it. We stayed for two nights and didn’t get fixed till the afternoon of the second night. Other wise apart from mouldy ceilings in the bathroom and thick silicon everywhere (fast fix on the wear and tear) it was ok.
