Copthorne Tara Hotel London Kensington

4.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

The hotel easy to reach in Kensington by taxi or public transport . In the area you will find several small pubs (not many) and restaurants of medium to good quality. The hotel staff is pleasant and working to make your stay good. The hotel has a brasserie and Chinese style restaurant with good quality food and ok prices. The staff of restaurant is friendly. Generally the rooms have most amenities you might expect.

9 days and 8 nights...it was not excellent but it is very comfortable except on a day the aircondition did not work but was fixed the following day. There was one staff who was curt and was not happy serving us...maybe because it was late in the evening. Thank you.

Very nice. Modern condition and updated. Large room for London. Very convenient to tube and shops. Horrible WiFi and no business center.

Great location, great neighborhood. Room lacked storage drawers, no shears on windows, curtain rod not attached on each end.

Bad internet (pretty useless). Dated facilities. Small double bed. Club lounge food isnt great. Coffee machine sucks

The hotel is very nice and the staff is excellent. Being located 1 long block from the Kensington High Street Underground station made it a great place to be located - especially if you are arriving via LHR. Breakfast is excellent and Marco the Concei concierge was extremely helpful. We will stay there again.

Friendly staff very helpful, clean, nice size rooms.

quiet and a great location. room was clean and staff was nice.

I had a great stay at Copthorne Kensington which is my first trip to London. Love the not too tourist atomsphere, felt we safe going back to the hotel at 10pm all nights that I was there. Close to High Street which made is very special & transportation was a breeze. You had the buses, underground & the cabs right at your door step so to speak. For a first timer in London got around very well with maps & directions from people I met along the way. People of London were very accommodating with directions. Will be back for round two sometime this year.

I always stay at the Copthorne Tara, has a great, safe location.

Tara is a block away from High St Kensington Underground, but, is tucked back off the main street, so you don't hear traffic and noise yet have the convenience of train, taxis, shops and restaurants. Staff was very helpful.

Going back to Tara is like visiting the familiar. It changes in small ways from year to year but it is reliable and excellent value. The staff and location are two of the high points - the staff actually recognized me from past visits. The room was perfectly adequate - an excellent value for the cost.

T his was my third stay at this hotel this year....nine days each visit. This is an indication of my high regard for it.Excellent location on a quiet cul-de-sac and a stone's throw from the tube station .Fine, charming, helpful staff .Breakfast remains a fantastic exercise. It is amazing how the staff feeds so many guests with extraordinary speed and efficiency.A great value for the money.Highly recommended.

I just stayed here for one night but it was a great value and close to the District and Circle lines. Just a 5 minute walk to the station. Great location in Kensington, so it is close to the Natural History Museum and Kensington Palace. Real good value considering the location.

It is a comfortable, reliable play in a good location, with a friendly efficient and helpful staff.

We spent three nights at the the Copthorne Tara while on vacation in UK. The location is within a short distance from High Street Kensington underground station. The lobby area looks nice. The room was clean. It was quiet, the bed was comfortable, but the room furniture is old. The staff was friendly and polite. We elected a stay without breakfast and it was the right decision since there are less expensive, breakfast places close by. We will stay again because of the location and polite, friendly staff.

Good but not great, I'd actually give it a 3.5. The rooms could have used an update, but were not totally disgusting or anything. Cheapest price in Kensington area for sure, so you get what you pay for. Great location, close to the underground. The tracks were right outside my room (I had the 9th floor) but they did a good job of double insulating the windows so you could not hear any outside noise. It was a bit hot, but not uncomfortable - I could not get the air conditioner to cool the room down to the freezing level that I like. Overall a good value, especially if you are not going to spend a lot of time in your room anyway, except to sleep and shower. I did not try the restaurant or lounge, but they looked nice. Close to shops and museums.

Staff was very helpful and polite. My stay included breakfast. The restaurant staff was also very polite and accommodating.

We found this hotel to have excellent location to High Street Kensington. The staff was courteous and helpful and the breakfast is an event at the hotel.

This was our fifth stay in ten years. The Property is always well kept and is wonderfully situated in Kensington. The rooms are well designed and appointed and the breakfast room is sumptuous and serves partially as a bar in the evenings. The hotel is air-conditioned which is a real plus for those of us who need it.
