Staff was very helpful without being obsequious. The room and public areas anticipated my needs and I felt at home immediately. Breakfast was delicious, with much variety offered. Can't wait to return.

Across from British museum. It's a short cab, walk, or metro anywhere. Staff will go out of their way to insure you have a great stay. If you are lucky to be their on a Wed or Thursday, the jazz in the bar is top notch.

Great hotel! Little treats left at night- very helpful staff

It seems very old English house so that gave us a feeling as if we were in a day of 1980s. Due to great location we walked every attractive area. Super friendly staffs but they missed our wake up call, very cozy room but it rather so tiny. Overall it was good stay.

We loved our stay at the Montague. The tea room is really nice and the staff is very nice and attentive.

It was a great experience with very friendly staff.

Friendly staff, well appointed room, very nice breakfast. Of the 4 star places on our trip, this was the most four-starish by a large margin.

Hey it is London so it is expensive and it is small rooms, but it is so close to the British Museum, and the Holborn Station, plus the accommodations are nice well decorated, well kept, with great staff, when we arrived with our two kids they gave us two small bowls of candy and coloring books, helped us with our numerous bags, and always greeted us cheerfully every morning, answering any of our "how to get there" questions...

Very comfortable room, clean and well decorated room. Great Location! Attentive staff. Amazing afternoon tea options.

My stay at the Montague on the Gardens couldn't have been better. From the very first, the staff was professional and welcoming. I observed every guest treated the same way. The food, both at the bar and at the Blue Door Bistro, was delicious. The room was elegant albeit small and exceptionally clean. I so enjoyed the French-Press coffee set-up in my room. The hotel is on a less busy side street, but so convenient to the Russell Sq. station. I found excellent restaurants and businesses of interest within easy walking distance. All in all, I highly recommend the Montague!

The hotel was everything we hoped it would be and more. The rooms were charming, the amenities delightful and the staff and service were outstanding. We topped off every evening in their cozy and friendly bar and they do a fabulous Kir Royale! Perhaps the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

The Montague on the gardens is an excellent hotel for the business traveller, with very good service, newspaper, breakfast on the room, all equipment available, and the location is close to Holborn/ british museum. Staff is professional and friendly/ service minded. it is one of the top hotels near Russel Square/ British Museum. Availability of Few small things like shoe polish/ perfume in the room, express check out, map with underground lines etc could improve to make the service top.

Perfect location across the street from British museum and Russell square. Convenient to all tube and rail networks. Excellent breakfast. Terrific concierge. Everyone knows your name. Rooms very comfortable.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel staff really went above and beyond to accommodate us and our requests, from the free birthday dessert when we arrived to moving us around when the noise from the street was too noisy for my wife and I.

The hotel was terrific. The highlights were the attractiveness of the hotel and the exceptional service. The rooms were reasonably sized and the location was good - right next to the British Museum.

Excellent stay. Small room as is the case in central London, but very comfortable. The Concierge staff was particularly helpful as was all of the staff. Would go back.

Fantatic! The staff was very attentive and the room was very clean and comfortable.

Pros: - Lovely staff, always wonderful & helpful. 5 stars! - Great location next to British Museum, 3 tube stops nearby to choose from. - 2 blocks from Tottenham Court Rd for grocery, coffee, restaurants, Maplin (radio shack equiv). - Bed and pillows were very supportive. - Very good heavy blackout curtains so you can sleep when you want. - AC works reasonably well. - Very quiet street and they even have 2 layers of windows, so noise from the street is never the problem. But... Cons: - The floors squeak horribly. If you're not staying on the top floor, you're guaranteed to be woken by people walking and squeaking above you late night and early morning. You're at their mercy. Stayed here for a week, and couldn't sleep-in once. - Rooms are tiny. You just have a little walk space around the bed. It was hard to find a patch of floor big enough just to do push-ups. There was about 1 foot of space between the tip of the toilet and the tub. Joke. - The elevator call button beeps loudly. If your room is anywhere close to the elevator door, you'll constantly think you left something in the microwave. - The gym is a joke. Just ask them if they can get you a temp pass to a real gym nearby. - Even with the 'room service' lights and signs, maids still knock on every door around 8,9ish. This has a chance of waking you up. Lovely location and hotel. More like 3.5 stars for some of the maintenance they really should be doing and lack of a real gym. At this price point, suppose it's okay for NYC or London, but it would't fly anywhere else in the US. Tip#1: Call them ahead for a private car service from the Airport. It's the same $$ as black cab but much better service and it's usually in a new Mercedes sedan. Tip#2: Don't stay anywhere but the top floor. You're floors could still squeak, but you won't be squeaked upon. Tip#3: Ask to arrange a guest pass to a real gym. Tip#4: Russell Square tube stop is super close just across the little park. Recommended, only for 3rd floor stay.

The room was average size based on US standards and nicely furnished. My room was not set up for convenient access to an AC outlet for charging things. The hallway to the room is very narrow and many swinging doors to go through to get to the room. The location is ideal if you want to be centrally located.
