From start to finish this hotel excelled on its customer service. I called to book a room as I wanted to use my Tesco vouchers. The guy on the phone was excellent. I told him it was our wedding anniversary and he obviously noted it down as when we got there we were upgraded to an executive room which they'd decorated so lovely with balloons, choccies, petals scattered on the bed and a card offering us a glass of prosecco each, which they bought to the room. The room was clean and very comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer! The bar was fabulous with a range of cocktails and drinks with a fun bright atmosphere. And open til 1pm! Highly recommend and we'll definitely be back!
I had no idea what to expect of a Novotel hotel as the last time was ages ago in Amsterdam with a bad experience. I was happely surprised by the Reception how they organized it in a modern welcome approach; loved it. The set up with a cosy bar good music in the bar, no nonsense spacy rooms, big double bed and a coach and Not to forget the rainshower! The restaurant was great s
This hotel is perfectly located for exploring London and provides excellent quality facilities and service. Very modern room and amenities which were spotlessly clean and well serviced daily. The staff in all areas of the hotel are very friendly and attentive with a great focus on customer service. The buffet breakfast each day was good quality with plenty of variety. Close to tube stations and walking distance to the Thames and many attractions. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Stayed there for 1 night on the 15th of July and booked a Queen Sized Bed With Private Balcony. The room was lovely, clean and tidy and the staff were friendly and helpful. We ended up having breakfast the next day in the hotel which again was busy but there was plenty of food, hot and cold with unlimited tea and coffee! It is near Southwark Underground with only a few stops from Bond Street and other main attractions! Would recommend a stay at this hotel, and would be booking again in the future.
Customer service at this hotel is fantastic. When we checked in, it took a few minutes longer and they offered us complimentary cocktails. They asked us the reason for our travel which was our anniversary and the hotel decorated our bed and gave us a card. It made our stay very special.
I stayed at this hotel for 9 days in early July. I booked my stay about 2 months before my arrival and I did not know what to expect when I arrived. Upon arrival it was already after 2pm so check in shouldn’t have been a problem. The computer system was down however so everything needed to be done manually. Even with technology not cooperating I was given my room key within minutes of my arrival. The reception staff are great, and very attractive! They were apologetic for the system being down and went over every detail of the hotel with me and made sure I had no questions and even if I did offered their assistance to get me what I needed. The room was very spacious. Everything has been cleaned well and nothing looked out of place. The view was amazing facing The Shard. I was on the 9th floor and did pick up some road noise but nothing that kept me awake at night. The television was a good size and easy to navigate the channels. The bathroom was enormous and the glass feature in the shower was cool and modern. The restaurant on the ground floor had good burgers and a lively atmosphere. The hotel location was the best part. Walking distance to the Southwark underground station, Tesco Express and various pubs to keep you entertained without traveling very far. I loved my time at Novotel Blackfriars and would definitely consider coming back on my next trip to London.
Modern mid range hotel chains are increasingly hitting the mark and Novotel has got it just about perfect with this hotel. The rooms are very comfortable with an excellent modern shower room. Personally I prefer a shower and a good roomy shower enclosure is much better than one over a bath. The bar area is modern and pleasant. The restaurant is a modern trendy place but quite appropriate. To my mind the breakfast is somewhat overpriced and needs more attention. In particular, the bread came as small French sticks but they weren't crisp and the bacon although good quality was stuck together in an unpleasant lump. Also please offer toast delivered to the table and don't expect customers to queue and wait at essentially a domestic toaster. Despite the last paragraph, I think this is a great hotel.
Really enjoyed our stay at this property. It is in a great location to catch both the tube from Blackfriars and the trains from Waterloo. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants within walking distance to the hotel. Additionally the Tate Modern very close by. The room was very clean and well kitted out with all of the essentials, and the staff was very helpful and courteous.
Really nice and clean hotel in absolutely great location. Delicious breakfast, superb staff and cool facilities (gym, swimming pool and sauna) you can use after a long day walking around London. Also really cool shower in our room. My only consider was that there was no drinking/bottled water in the room. Beside that 10/10!
Hotel on the southbank edge of river Thames. It has an strategic location aas it is at a walking distance from Covent Garden or from the Big Ben. Rooms are ok. The gym is small but fine. It also has a good indoors swimming pool. Breakfast is really copious. In yhe area there are lots of restaurants, some of them quite lively.
