I have stayed at GoNative in Monument several times and been impressed by it so was disappointed to not find this a comparable experience at all. My room was on the lower ground floor opposite the laundry which smelled very damp. The whole building felt and looked very tired with marks on carpets and walls. The faux leather of the bed in my room was grubby, the carpets felt oddly industrial and crackly underfoot (where was the laminate wood flooring?), the blind on the bedroom window wasn’t broken so people could probably actually lean over the railings and see me in bed, one of the TVs wouldn’t stand up properly, the toilet didn’t flush properly, the seating in the living area was an odd and extremely uncomfortable plastic love seat (why not a couple of comfy armchairs - there was plenty of space!). Oh and the springs in the mattress were broken. Disappointing. Friendly receptionist though.
The staff were friendly and the room was nice and clean. Beautiful view over the street, and a nice living area. Some small milks wouldn't of gone a miss as proper english folk i needed a tea when i got there, but had to pop out to get a green top. Great location in walking distance of so many attractions (or one or two stops on underground, if your feeling lazy), including museum's and winterwonderland.
Absolutely disgusting. I was provided with the description and photos of the property, and decided to stay here. I doubt that the room in the picture even exists in the property. The state of the overall building is just miserable. The room I was given - hard to choose a right word to describe (in the worst possible way). There was a futon in the room, which seemed to be never cleaned for 50 years. Cleanliness is one big issue. On top of that, even the entire floor was so severely tilted and uneven that I felt like I was sitting on a steep hill while sitting in a little dinky plastic chair in the room.
I turned up. The reception folk talked to their computers in unison without either looking up at me. Welcome back to London I thought. I had to ask which one of them was actually talking to me. The room was grotty. Stains everywhere and a dank smell. This was not a 150 quid a night accommodation. Won't be using Expedia again. It was an expensive dive. Don't go people - go somewhere else. This place lacks cleanliness, friendliness and every other ness you can think of.
It's small. But really for London it has all at a price point. A boutique apartment with double bed living area, kitchenette with washer and dryer and bathroom with bathtub 2 minutes from Paddington station. Yes elevators are small and service is limited but rooms are exactly what you want where you want. All amemities are catered for!
Terrible terrible service .The people at the reception are not helpful at all.I had to extend my stay and they booked me in the wrong room a more expensive room but I continued staying in my premium studio apartment .The first day I got there the room was so dirty even though I had informed the reception they did nothing about it until the next day afternoon. The only saving grace is the manager .They booked me a taxi who wanted money from me seperately who was very rude ..Never ever staying here again ! Never !
Go Native, both in their old Earls Court premises and here, provide excellent value for money. The location, within 200 metres of both Hyde Park and Lancaster Gate tube station, is excellent.. The furnishings, both in the lobby/reception area and the apartments, is a lot better than it needs to be to justify the price. Even the kitchen stuff is a lot better than most of its competitors. The only thing I don't get is the absence of aircon. There are under window heaters, but combined heating and cooling aircon would be a lot more sensible. I was lucky. The weather was not that hot. An open window was enough to keep the room at a sensible temperature. If the temp had been up near 30C, I would have been a very unhappy bunny, despite all of the good things mentioned above. I forgot to mention that the quality of the in room wifi was excellent, far better than most other hotels and restaurants in this tourist area.
I stayed at Go Native Hyde Park 2 years ago. It was in the middle of a heat wave. This time the first few days of my stay, it was hot but the room wasn't unbearable. Most buildings in London aren't equipped for heatwaves. Air conditioning isn't standard. Know this going in. What's great about this hotel is the convenience to Paddington Station, the Lancaster Gate tube station, it's a stones throw to Hyde Park and if you want to go shopping on Regent Street, it's a schlep but a really nice long Schlep along nice streets. I also enjoy staying at this hotel because of the convenience of a clothes washer and dryer. It's slow but definitely a bonus to be able to wash and dry clothes daily. Don't expect your room to be cleaned each day unless you pay. The staff is hit and miss. Some know what's in the rooms and others have no idea. I'll be back for a third stay.
The property is well located and has all basic amenities - except fans for cooling. It was 28 degrees in London when I checked in (and last week was similarly hot). Despite this they did not have fans available on the day I checked in. On the second day of my stay (another hot one) I was given a broken fan to use in my room which only works when the safety cover is removed. It's not unreasonable to not have air conditioning in England - most times you'd hardly need it. But working fans should be available for all guests. Choose somewhere else if it's going to be hot when you're travelling to London.
We booked a premium studio apartment for 2 nights. Good facilities. Fridge, dishwasher, microwave cooker, washer. Good clean bathroom. Double bed and plenty of storage. Good location. Would recommend and stay again.
