Gallery Hyde Park Hostel2.0 out of 5.0

The hostel has a good location, close to many shops and restaurants and near Hyde park. The bedroom is ok, not so clean, but it’s fine to spend 2 or 3 nights. The breakfast for hostel is enough, with some bread and cereals. The price is fine for what they offer.
The hostel is in very nice place. To the centrum you can go by walk.Everything what do you need is on the street next (Queensway). The beds are sinking, but ok. The reception is 24 hours. So I did not have problem and if I will come again to Londyn, I will stay on the same place.Thank you
Good points -24 hour reception Bad points: - luggage room seems very insecure. It's not locked and is on the entry side of reception, out of sight of reception staff. I'm not sure if staff have any way of seeing the room (e.g.:'camera) but it seems entirely possible that anyone could just walk in, take something and leave again. Also no light in there. -all bathrooms I used were completely soaked, stank and had wet toilet paper etc on the floors. -towels cost £5 (£3 refunded) if you need one so keep in mind -beds and pillows not very comfortable. -No storage lockers in rooms -No power points readily accessible to people in top dorm bunks. -things just in a general state of being unclean As a qualifier, I rarely review places poorly, but this was really a bad hostel. I asked another guest what they thought and they said it was the worst they'd been to. Some actual effort needs to go into keeping this place clean. I'm in no way associated with Astor Queensway hostel in the next street over, but have stayed there once a few weeks before my experience here and can comfortably say it is a LOT nicer for pretty.much the same money.
The pictures on booking.com is very misleading! The room was dark and dirty and it's nothing like the pictures. You can't even charge your phone in the room. I strongly recommend you NOT to book this hostel! I had to sleep on a mattress full of dirty and craps. If I werent staying for a few hours, I would have gone to a different hostel.
It was in a good location, closet to Hyde Park and 2 subway stations, but it doesn’t worth!! The bathroom are disgusting and most of the time it Just doesn’t work! They have 4 public bathrooms... one of them had no lights, other one had no shower, other had no place to put your clothes and the last one always had a big line... and all of them super unclean
Close to Central, district and circle lines which is HUGE especially if you don't have very long in London. Two tube stations on the street parallel is amazing. The mattresses are uncomfortable and there aren't enough wall plugs. The bathrooms are absolutely horrific as well. Interestingly my stay overall was still really nice. There was a window so there was always a nice breeze. Great people staying there and wonderful staff who were so willing to help with everything I needed. Washing facilities were great! Free breakfast too although I never actually tried it! I was in London for two weeks and had five nights here. As I said, does the job?
My friend and I enjoyed our stay for two weeks, it's a cheap hostel in central London (wich isn't easy to find). Great location, the staff was beyond than kind, really helpful every time we needed them. It's a classic and big building (an old one with some facilities issues but nothing that we couldn't solve). We aren't picky or highly demanding at all, so if you want a bed to sleep in a shared room, have a toast with Nutella and coffee in the morning, meet people, and have fun (5 minutes from the Hyde park, 10 minutes walk to Paddington station, and nearby Notting Hill) you'll like this British hostel by a nice neighborhood.
Pros: buffet system of breakfast and the staff were also nice if ignoring that check in issue. Cons: Starting from the check-in, i have confirmed my early chek-in through booking.com, but they didn't allow me for early check in the room. But yes, they kept my luggage and allowed me to use public washroom. They allot me a room which was on 4th floor, and u have to carry ur luggage yourself on that STEEP stairs. Now, enter in the room, The rooms are so small that you cant even open your suitcase properly, if u have large one. There are only two socket of power, which are used to by 4 persons. Now, what, r u searching for the bathroom to take shower, let me tell you there is no bathroom on that floor. You have to walk down to 3rd or 2nd floor (this floor's bathroom is bigger than others and have latest facilities) to take shower. Overall, i want to say if you just want to sleep in hotel, you can book this hotel.
Knowing it's a tourist trap, we still went to save money. Waking up with a headache because of lack of air is too much. It's ok to put a lot of people in little space, but this kind of lodging people should be forbidden.
We booked an executive room. No toilet roll. No towels. No where to put your clothes. No glass for a drink. The smallest toilet space if you are large you would never get in. TV in room don't even work and outside noisy. The only plus was it was clean and the bed was clean. Pillows were crap. Very disappointed. Avoid at all costs.!
