First impressions are key, so after checking in, which went well, we decided to have lunch in the bar area, a seafood platter was ordered which was nice, I ordered a pint lager shandy, it arrived and straight away the bar gave it's standards away, it came in an old Guinness glass, which looked poor. worse was to come when I went to pay the bill for lunch, I was charged £4.95 for a bottle of larger and £2.20 for lemonade in it, so £7.15 for a pint, no one had told me that they do not do draught beer, but just used a bottle with it. not happy, minor problem but important to me at the time. The rest of our stay was ok, room was nice bed was comfy, no complaints, breakfast was buffet style which was also good. But the bar issue spoilt my enjoyment of the hotel. shame as I liked it. staff at concierge seemed to only be friendly if needed to be, could do better there.

This hotel relies heavily on its gimmick that it used to be a Court, but you need more than that to deserve 5 stars and charge this kind of money. The decor is tired, our room was supposed to be a suite, but it was barely a superior room in my book. No dressing gowns. The tv wasn't working, though it was fixed promptly once I'd found which of the 2 phones was working. The fan in the bathroom was ridiculously loud, and although it was all fairly clean, it was all in need of a spruce up. The breakfast was a hit and miss affair, the first table we chose almost collapsed when touched, when I pointed it out I was told in no uncertain terms that it was fine! And maybe I expect too much but I was surprised all the food was self service. Dinner in Silks in the old Court was the highlight, good food and good service, and the hotel is in a good location, but I wouldn't go back, there are better hotels for the money.

Bought Japanese afternoon tea for a friends birthday from buyagift.com usually £78 but offered at £42 Don't bother.... The "silk" room was dreary, dark and had no character at all We were offered tea which we had to ask 3 times for and came 40 minutes after we started food and the plum wine My friend pre ordered a veggie option for herself only, when I asked where the items from the set afternoon menu were for me, they brought out some chicken strips on a side plate.... A "glass" of plum wine was included....and by glass it came as an equivalent of a shot....I'd say 3 sips and it was gone £21pp was a rip off even as an offer, I'd be fuming if I'd actually had to pay nearly £40pp There are many excellent places in London that are cheaper and better quality, don't bother with this one

After a tiring day in London, we came back to courthouse hotel expecting to have a good rest. However, when i plugged my adapter in and tried to charge my phone, there was a spark and all light just went off. The room was in complete darkness. I called the reception immediately and a reception guy named Georgie came. I explained the situation to him and he told me that he'll go check on the switch and will get back to me in 3 or 4 minutes. So I sat on the bed in complete darkness, can't do anything but waiting for his reply. After waiting for 30 minutes without any response, I made my second call to the reception. The manager of the reception, Antonio, finally came. It took him less than 1 minute to check the switch and he came to the conclusion that since the technicians are not available right now, all he can do is give us another room for us to sleep tonight. Only after we urged them to explain the cause of the wait, he replied impatiently that he was dealing with "guest issues" without actually telling us what exactly was more important than making us wait in darkness for 30 minutes. I am really disappointed with how they deal with their hotel facility issues. They neglected customer needs and requests. The way they handled the problem is unacceptable and unprofessional. I don't think any person should be treated like this, especially in a five star hotel. This is not the service that you would ever expected from a five star hotel.

Great reception staff, in fact everyone friendly. Nice room, good sound proofing, super comfy bed. Nothing special with the bathroom but clean and functional. Didn't eat here for dinner but breakfast ... quite poor. Good selection but poor hosting. Hopeless bringing beverages and absolutely disgusting, cold coffee. Table wobbled so much we had problems keeping items on plates and drinks in cups. Luke warm food. Wouldn't touch the bacon, really unpleasant. Location, absolutely superb for central London, oxford street etc ... Loved the ambience and the bedrooms but my God, the breakfast was awful.

Loved the architectural conversion and the way the interior design took inspiration from the buildings previous use. The room was great : spacious , nicely designed , great bed and shower. But why tell the story of Ronnie and Reggie Kray being kept in cells that are now incorporated into the bar if there are rarely bar staff manning the bar ? And why similarly spend so much money so brilliantly converting the police station/ cells / courtroom into the hotel when the many interesting stories about what happened in the court / police station/ cells is not bought to life. There should be a leaflet in every bedroom with some details on some of the cases / remand prisoners etc that came to court in the hotel . One of us is in the legal service in Northern Island and knows their colleagues would love to know about the hotel and then if they knew more about some of the cases would book to come to this hotel

We visited the Courthouse Hotel on Saturday afternoon for lunch in the Carnaby Brasserie. The setting is nice, with different areas to see (cells, rooftop terrace) however the service was very slow and the food was average. We had the set 2 course lunch, very basic, no sides or garnish for main or dessert. I had a 20% discount code as I reserved direct, but still rather overpriced for the quality. Also 12.5% service charge applied. I would recommend trying somewhere else if visiting the area, unfortunately we would not return

Hotel located near Carnaby Street and Oxford Circus Soho, Piccadilly Circus and Covent Garden reachable in a few minute's walk. Our room was clean, nothing missing and very large for London that is known for small rooms. Breakfast could have more variation and is served in a very cold location, not worse the price.

This is an interesting hotel, not necessarily for its elegance but because it was a Magistrates Court and the interesting people who have been there for whatever they have done. John Lennon, Mick Jagger and Oscar Wilde. We sat in one of the three cells and it gave a very strange sense of what it would be like if we were to have a night in such a stark cell, with its toilet and single bed. We were drinking champagne and laughing, taking photos with the metal door closed and the small viewing shutter opened. We four enjoyed ourselves, but didn't stay overnight. It also had the court where you could enjoy a Tia meal with the Judges bench still in place.

We've choose this hotel for two reasons: it has an excellent location and we found a good rate (London is well known for very expensive, terrible hotels). We spent three nights here. Our first night was a nightmare. Our mattress was just terrible. I couldn't sleep and at I woke up with my neck destroyed literally. I asked the reception to solve our problem and we were moved to another room and the situation improved terribly. One only comment. We were asked more than half day to be moved to our new room. Both room had their bathroom roof with the painting falling apart and honestly that was really sad to see. No other complaint about this place. It would need a good restoration and it could be a great place.
