This has been my go-to hotel in London for many years. I'll start with the positives: I love the location. Literally across the street from Gloucester Rd station on the Piccadilly line, it is easy to get to and from Heathrow as well as to London landmarks like Harrods, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, Green Park (Buckingham Palace) and Covent Garden. Close by to the hotel there are grocery stores, bars, restaurants, laundromats, coffee shops etc. I was disappointed by a few things. The hotel is way overdue for refurbishment. I was talked into upgrading to a bigger better room for 30 GBP a night. The size of the room was good, but the carpet had worn patches. On the desk there was a unit with 2 USB plugs and 2 regular UK sockets The USB worked, but the other sockets did not. Because this unit was then plugged into to a wall socket. there was no lamp or light over the desk which made it useless for working/reading. The hairdryer is by the desk rather than in the bathroom but also did not work. There was a small fridge in the room so I bought some orange juice from one of the stores close by. In the morning the juice was not cold or even cool and it was only then I noticed a sign saying it does not chill below 8c so not to store perishables in it. Then what is the point of it? In the bathroom there is , what appears to be, a heated towel rack, that is plugged into the wall with a thermostat control. Next to this is a sign saying it is not a heated towel rack

Very nice convenient hotel in a very nice area with lots of places of interest around

We purchased a package of airline and hotel together. Except the EVA air flight attendants went on strike. The airline cancelled many flights including ours. We got the refund from the airline portion, but the hotel insisted on their policy of not giving the money back. So the package deal was not a good idea. And insurance may or may not help in this situation either. I am not happy with what happened. We can not use the hotel since it was part of the package deal.

The location is great being opposite Gloucester Road underground station with easy access to Victoria for the gatwick express and Paddington for the Heathrow express. The hotel is tired and overdue for renovation . My TV did not work, hot water could do no better than warm and the curtain was partially off its rail. But I will likely stay there again as it’s familiar and is convenient plus compared to its competition is reasonably priced. One gets what one pays for here.

Location to underground stations, stores and restaurants. Places around to visit within walking distance. Breakfast was great. Most of all soooo quite room nightly . You get good rest!!!

Great location, literally just outside the Gloucester Road underground station. You can take the Piccadilly, Circle or District line to reach many tourist attractions. It is also within about 20 minutes walk to Hyde Park.

great location close to the tube station plenty of good restaurants around

Great location! Clean and as expected. Staff was good as well. Would stay again.

The first room we got had dirty carpet, the bathtub was reallly badlly chipped and rusted around the drain. The lamps were broken. The second room had equally or worse carpet. The tub was better but the shower head was trully awful. The air conditioning fan could not be turned off. There was just a table lamp and wasnt working but they did bring abother one

Staff is obviously being stretched, especially the cleaning staff. I don't blame them, I blame the management. Desk staff a bit rude. Hotel is stuffy, stale and overly perfumed. I woke with swollen eyes every morning. There is dust in the room, and my room was not made up two days in a row, even after I requested it be done. Again, not the cleaning staff's fault, as they said they were given other directions, and they had to get other rooms ready for new guests. I

good location, staff mostly very friendly and helpful. my first night was not so great but then hotel came to my help and made my stay very pleasant. i appreciated their helpfulness.

Great service and location! One minute away from the tube, rooms are large and comfortable. Have stayed there before and it is always a pleasure.

Great location! London Tube is less than a 5 minute walk! Plus there is a 24 hour supermarket around the corner! Very happy with my stay here! Also very close to restaurants and bars!! Also bathroom was very clean and newly renovated! Enjoyed my stay!

For price is not really nice the Hotel. old structure

nice hotel best location, staff were nice I felt safe and comfortable I have one comment, wish smoking more restricted as we people from states have all smoke areas free

Perfect location - the Underground, the food, and the attractions!
