I’m writing this as I’m waiting for my airport transfer, which is 30 minutes late and has been handled poorly by the hotel. They don’t seem to understand that time matters and keeping travelers informed matters. The safe also stopped working and I couldn’t get my wallet out and I was late to a meeting. Also the lights in the room are difficult to turn off and there is no set of instructions (and forget turning them off when you leave the room. You can’t open the shades bc you’re next to another building and who wants to walk across a room in pitch black). At the same time, the room at a phone to use for calls to the US and UK and for local calls. The pool is gorgeous. The individuals in the business center worked hard to make sure things went smoothly for my video deposition. This should be a better hotel than it is. It could be a better hotel than it is. It would just take prioritizing things like keeping someone informed as to their options when an airport transfer is 30 minutes late. It requires prioritizing making sure safes work and if they break, someone isn’t stuck without their wallet. It requires making sure there is a sign explaining the 20 light switches and which turn off the bathroom nightlight and that it only works if you go on a specific order of shutting off lights. Would I stay here again? Maybe for the pool I would. The room is efficiently laid out and that was nice. But instead of me leaving with nice memories of a last hour at the pool and the great employees who staff the pool, I’m left with frustration that when my airport transfer wasn’t going to be showing up anywhere near on time, no one told me that and no one offered to get me a taxi. Little things like that would have made me think they care. (Oh, btw, don’t rely on the hotel for airport transfers if that’s not abundantly clear)
I have spent many nights in the Indigo hotel in Bangkok, because I just love the way it is. And when now in Hong Kong, had to see if the same atmosphere is also here. Did not disappoint me! Same hospitality, the smaller size and the fleur. They really have managed it all very very nicely, great combo of Western and Asian influence. The roof bar is great, although the kitchen closes a bit too early (10 pm), luckily one can order room service to the bar 🙂. The pool is small but fantastic, the view while making your strokes is just fabulous. If you like a small cosy hotel, this is your place to stay
Great little boutique hotel in a fabulous location. Rooms are small and cosy but that is also part of the charm. Staff are attentive, hotel is very clean. Mini bar is well stocked and the bed is comfortable. Would stay again if in Hong Kong.
2 minutes walk from Wan Chai MTR station. One MTR stop the Causeway Bay and 2 MTR stop to Lan Kwai Fong. A great hotel to stay with. The staff are nice, the hotel is clean and nice. Stayed for 5 days for my business trip.
Stayed for 4nights. At first, I had no expectation for the hotel since it was my business trip but the service that all staff provided totally changed my entire trip. They were kind, attentive and they also have an eye for detail. They opened the door and got an elevator for me every time I walked in. Plus they even remember my preference from breakfast service, deliver my request to the next shift person(Suki and Yoyo) so that I get an update to my room. Room was clean, spacious, cozy with nice amenities from Crabtree & Evelyn. Located near to Wan chai station and it’s very close to many office buildings. This hotel may not provide something “local” if you want to experience something authentic but other than that, it’s a super great hotel. I just looooooved it❤️
Full disclosure: I organized a trip for both my parents from Paris to HK...they flew the day after most of the flights were cancelled to HK... they flew on 12th August 2019...I wanted to make sure my parents arrived safely at the airport and at the hotel...I was in constant contact with the wonderful staff in Concierge (Tim Ho, Angela...sorry if I forgot someone) well before and during my parents stay...I may have asked dozens of questions and I must say the service and response were excellent and very caring about the situation. I just want to say that the Hotel has excellent staff caring about their customers despite them being overwhelmed with the current situation. If I could give 6 stars, I would! thanks for taking care of my parents...
We visited this hotel three years ago and we absolutely loved the place, one of the nicest hotels we know. So we definitely wanted to stay here again during our visit this year, and we were not disappointed. The rooms are very very nice, beautifully decorated, nice bed and shower. The breakfast buffet has lots of choices, and your own chef to prepare your omelette. The hotel has a gym, and a rooftop pool, which was very nice. The hotel is located in the middle of lively Wan Chai, packed with shops, bars and restaurants, and very close to the metro and tram lines. All this and the very friendly staff made it again our perfect destination...
Location! Location! Situated unassumingly in the heart of Wanchai, this hotel exudes warmth willingly. It was a few minutes walk to the metro station and to exciting open air markets. Streets and avenues with a European feel, surrounded by excellent restaurants, good choices for a vegetarian, make this a lovely place to stay. There was a music system, Smart TV, good selection of toiletries, and other usual standard fittings. The room was moderate in size with one wall replaced by a large glass through which light poured in if you wanted. The mattress was simply superb.Everything was of great quality. The staff were wonderful and very helpful especially with hailing taxis, helping with luggage. Great choice for an affordable stay in Hong Kong. It was too cold to use the rooftop swimming pool. I did not have breakfast in the hotel and hence cannot comment about food quality
Great location, very nice rooms... only downside is the room service. Tho eating in the room is not a great idea in Hong Kong where there is so much outside... sometimes it’s required because of late hours at work. Rest all is great... walking distance to wan chai station (if you need the train network).
This is a great hotel! Well located, very helpful staff (see below), great pool, spacious modern rooms and more personal than some of the larger chain hotels in Hong Kong. We are a family of 6 and arrived early from Paris en route to Melbourne. The staff provided both an early check in (the thought of 4 kids sitting around a hotel lobby for three hours waiting to check in after no sleep was quite scary) and late check out (one of our kids got quite sick the morning we were leaving and they were most helpful). The only issue we had was with our booking. We booked through Booking.com so not sure if this is a hotel issue or the booking agents? However we booked two rooms (for the 6 of us) only to be told that the rooms didn’t accomodate three people so we had to book a third room. It worked out fine in the end (although more expensive than we would have liked) so just be careful when booking to be sure the rooms are able to accomodate the travelling party!
