This hotel was chosen as it is supposedly a 4* hotel, this was a business trip. I am staggered that anybody would rate this hotel as 4*. Others are rating it as a 3.5*. It is more like a serviced apartment block without the facilities, in fact there are no "hotel" facilities at all. Also this hotel is currently situated in prime "protest" territory. The room is v basic. Tired, scuffed furniture, stains on the paintwork etc. The grout on the sinks needs replacing as it has mould growth on it & in the shower. Whilst in the bathroom the smell from the unused toilet was vile, i had to close both the toilet lid and the bathroom door to not smell it in the room. The rest of the room could have done with a deep clean to rid the dust. Let's now talk about trying to get some much needed rest as a business traveller. The air con is extremely noisy, esp at night. I was forced to turn the unit off to try and get some rest. I was on the 19th floor but the sound and vibrations from traffiic were bad. Because i had to turn the air con off, the room became an oven. The mattress was the hardest thing i have ever laid on. It was so hard that when i tried to sleep on my side, my hip went numb. I asked to speak to the manager to express my concern and ask that he refund the rest of my week so I could move to somewhere better and he refused citing company policy. He did offer me a room upgrade but honestly I just wanted to get away. My company has now removed this “hotel” from our travel options.

As this property is also a serviced apartment, the rooms has quite a bit of drawer space. Open closet so not a lot of hanging space but sufficient for a couple of days stay. Really powerful air conditioning. Location wise, in the heart of Wanchai. Within walking distance to Causeway Bay (15-20mins walk to Times Square). Lots of restaurants nearby. A short walk to Wanchai MTR station. Rooms are slightly larger (HK standard) than most boutiques hotels. Cute lobby on 3/F. Staff are helpful. Overall good value for money as prices of hotels dramatically slashed during these few months of unrest in HK.

Stayed twice in a two weeks period. The location is perfect, close to MTR and close to restaurants. Rooms are quiet, comfortable. I left the hotel for a short trip to the Philippines and Macau, concierge kept my luggage. My only complain is that the cleaning is not the best. When I check in my room has hairs and drit in the floor. This happened twice and even after housekeeping they didn't clean it throughly.

Very comfortable and clean hotel, with modern design. Their staff are really helpful and polite. Also the facilities are good, they have welcome drinks for the customers. Enjoy staying here a lot. Highly recommend this hotel to everybody.

We stayed at Wanchai 88 for 3 nights recently. Kyle and the team really looked after us - nothing was too much to ask and they even went to the extent of letting us use their personal phones to authenticate a purchase of some coupons for activities as we didn’t have a local number. Fantastic facilities and location, would really recommend staying here

Very large rooms by Hong Kong standards. Modern styling and close to the MTR. No restaurant in the hotel, but there are literally hundreds of food options within walking distance. We only stayed one night as part of an extended layover, but I would not hesitate to stay here for an extended period if I visit Hong Kong again soon.

A male staff broke into my room while i was taking a shower at 9am saying that the room was checked out. Not only has the hotel did not make any in person apologies, the manager never showed up and only asked the reception guy to call and offer late check out as a compensation. It was the worst experience at this hotel and i hope no one ever choose to stay here to risk their privacy and getting treated the way i was treated. The room isn’t as great as shown in the picture and facilities were run down.

My second visit to this place and this time I stayed on the upgraded rooms which is very much worth it with the stunning views of the mountains. Size is also much bigger. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Of course there is no breakfast but the location makes up for that. The rooms are good size with plenty of power sockets. Bathroom is well maintained and efficient with overhead rain shower. Definitely my regular place.

Fantastic hotel. clean, modern interiors with fantastic shower facilities. Really enjoyed staying there, the staff were friendly and we felt safe and welcome. Would recommend to someone in need of a hotel which is well located and covers all the basics at a dirt cheap rate!

Wanchai 88 was much more than I expected when it comes to the usual boutique hotel in Hong Kong. First of all, the location is incredibly convenient. Less than a 5 minutes walk to the MTR station and it's surrounded by buses and trams. If you plan to use a lot of public transport, this hotel's location couldn't be better. The staffs are all friendly and helpful, they certainly do go the extra mile to make my stay here as comfortable as possible. Big thanks to the concierge staff for helping me with the luggages and getting a taxi. The room I stayed at was much more spacious than I had expected, certainly much bigger than the other hotels in the area as that price point. If you are looking for a hotel with spacious rooms, good location, and a friendly, helpful staff, I can't think of a better hotel to recommend than Wanchai 88.
