This hotel is right across from The Times Square Shopping Mall. The SOGO (a Japanese Shopping Center) is within 15 minutes walk. There are many small eating places around the hotel, some open till after midnight. There are at least two 7-Eleven stores near the hotel. They are open 24 hours daily. If you want to explore Hong Kong, one of the more convenient way is to take the MTR (a subway transportation). There is an MTR station underneath The Times Square. This hotel also offers a daily complimentary breakfast (Asian or western food). The front desk staff are quite friendly and helpful in our checking in and out of the hotel. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and offered us bottled waters everyday when we were there. My family had two rooms and we stayed for 4 nights at this hotel. One drawback from this hotel is that it does not appeared to have wheelchair access. You have to take an escalator from the street level to the hotel lobby. We carried our 5 pieces of pretty good size luggages up the escalator. There is a small refrigerator, a TV and a safety deposit box in the room. There are no microwave ovens available inside the rooms. The rooms are smaller than the ones we've stayed in the States, but they are comfortable enough for a budget stay. The wifi works most of the time. We had to refresh it several times when we are inside the rooms. I would go back to this hotel again in the future because I love the convenience to get onto the MTR, buses and trams. The cafes and small restaurants in the Times Square are fun too.
Arriving from HKIA - public bus (A11) at the airport (pls refer to google map) + 5min walk from Wan Chai fire station (350m) Hotel location - From Causeway Bay MTR, go to Exit A (Times Square). Walk through the cosmetic floor of Lane Crawford to the side entrance (to the right of Aesop counter). The hotel is just opposite. - Tram station is just a 5min walk away. Check in / Check out - Swift. IHG member is given a welcome drink (in a can) to take away. Room - Fabulous housekeeping. Room is clean and bed is comfortable. If you are using the sofa bed, ask for an extra duvet to spread over it for better comfort. - Good wifi Breakfast - Choice of set breakfast. Portion is more than adequate. Service is fast and efficient. Takeaway is available too.
Excellent choice for a great hotel with great rates for the non corporate business person. Rooms are more than adequate with fast wifi. Handy phones have been moved out but available from front desk. Breakfast is great at Stars Kitchen on the 1st floor.
Without a doubt, this is THE worst Holiday Inn property I have ever stayed at. Wifi cuts out regularly, apparently this is an ongoing issue with the hotel and has yet to be resolved. Also a very strong MOLD smell in the room. Definitely would NOT recommend this hotel, despite the convenient location.
It was a great experience staying at this property with my family. The biggest advantage is its location-situated barely 3 minutes from the Causeway Bay Metro Station. The area has plenty of restaurants, convenience stores, shopping joints. The rooms are spacious and the breakfast is good. The internet is fast.
My colleague overseas recently stay in Hong Kong for business trip and I recommended him to stay at Holiday Inn Express. Below is the comment: - Excellent location access to office in Wanchai district (Shopping and eating area) - Room is more spacious compared to other boutique hotels in the same category or budget - Variety choice of set breakfast. For the first time visitor, you can feel the local culture and friendly servicing style in this hotel - internet speed is smooth during my stay I will definitely come back next time and recommended others to stay with this hotel.
Stayed recently in Causeway Bay and have to say the Holiday Inn Express fulfilled our expectations. Great location with Times Square shopping opposite and within easy reach of all the tourist spots. Stayed on a high floor with a reasonable view and the room was clean and relatively spacious considering the price. Breakfast was in one of the restaurants on the lobby floor and was nourishing and adequate. Reception staff were extremely pleasant and helpful with our many questions. A definite place to go back to.
It is located next to Causeway Bay MTR below Times Square. The room is small, but you get a sofa bed. Staying with 2 children, make it bearable. The room comes with a decent breakfast. Overall we enjoyed our stay there.
Location is everything, and this HIX is in the middle of all the excitement Causeway Bay can offer. Countless restaurants are only steps away, and if you're into shopping you're bang in the middle of it. The hotel itself is in a 29 storey building. Don't worry about getting a high level room for the view, as you'll most likely be staring into the much higher building of the Times Square complex on the other side of the street, unless you get a room ending in double digits (such as 1310 or 2713) which have partial view going a bit further away. The rooms are clean and functional, albeit basic, but hey this is a HIX, not the Peninsula. The shower has good water pressure. The corner rooms ending in 01 (at least 1301 does) have an additional sofa and are a bit bigger than the other rooms. Free wifi throughout the hotel, and with good quality. Breakfast is a bit of a joke, but at least it is something, and is included in the price. Only set "menus" (choices range from A to F or G, western or asian food) are available, and you'll get exactly what is advertised, so no surprises here. Overall, a good hotel to choose as a base to explore the city, and not too expensive by HK standards.
We usually start off our vacations with the lowest end hotel, then progressively move to better places so that our kids learn to appreciate what they have and can also learn to be adaptable. This was our first stop in Asia and was definitely on lower end of the scale. The rooms here were on par with a worn out roadside motel in the US, but half the size. We even upgraded. Best part was convenient location near Times Square. If not for that, it would have been a regrettable choice. This is a place in which you spend as little time during the day as possible, so if you plan on sight seeing or shopping the majority of the day, then it can serve as an overnight crash pad. Front desk personnel are abrupt, but it was otherwise a quick efficient check in. Ironically, the kindest and most welcoming staff were the cleaning ladies and guard. I usually do a good wipe down of rooms we stay with disinfectant wipes since we have one young child who still mouths everything so I've gotten really good at judging how well a room has been turned over. Place was indeed well cleaned - that is a plus. Breakfast is barebones. Western fare is equivalent to middle school cafeteria meal with institutionalize eggs and croissant. Chinese breakfast is better, but still without much flavor. I'm not sure the price is even good for value. It's probably close to approaching a third less than what one would pay for a 4 star place, but it's exponentially less nice. I'll probably avoid in future. It did serve its purpose though. Our next stop was still a mid level hotel, but the older kids couldn't stop saying how nice it was when compared to the holiday inn express.
