I reserved this motel about a month and 1/2 in advance with a credit card. The person I talked to I couldn't understand. I asked to speak to someone else and was told there was on one else. The day of arrival I got a call while I was in a meeting checking to see if I am going to check in I asked if I had a reservation and was told yes but was then told they were just checking I asked why are they going to give away my room and was told the room was still there. The first night I noticed after waking up I had a bug bite on my arm. I went to get breakfast they had warm milk just sitting by the cereal and the breakfast was pathetic as in nothing there but cereal and a make your own waffle machine. I got back to the motel after the first day and waking up the next morning my arm itched in about 12-13 spots and noticed later that day just as many bumps so they must be bug of some kind bites. I checked out and was very happy to leave.

It's a hotel in a small town. They keep the rooms clean and would recommend if your only going for a night or two not an extended stay

August 20, and 21, 2017 - Unfortunately, we had to stay at the Marshall, Missouri Super 8 during two days of the eclipse. Of course, at least we had a place to stay. But, that is all I can say good. Our room 207 was conveniently located just to the left at the top of the stairs from the main lobby. When I entered the room, I immediately noticed the detachment from the wall of one of the two lamps over the night table between the two beds. The screw that was supposed to hold the lamp to the wall was loose because the area was stripped where the screw was to attach. I reported it to the lady in the hall who just came into the room and gingerly reattached the lamp while I was watching and holding my breath. The beds were comfortable but the pillows died a long time ago. The furniture had lots of nicks and scratches. The metal bases of the room lamps were filthy like they had not been polished or cleaned since they were purchased and installed. The bathroom shower worked fine and the towels were adequate. But, the bathroom floor was dirty and there was mold around the left side of the tube next to the floor. Plus, the plastic molding near the tub and the wall had become detached revealing the area below which was, of course, dirty. The mirror was really worn around the left lower edge and the plastic shade over the mirror light was cracked. I think a very low watt bulb was used in the light to cover up many of the bathroom defects. On the morning we were to check out, we had breakfast, which was OK. Nothing special but OK. I always take pictures of the hotels where we stay so I can evaluate them on Trip Advisor. When the lady (same lady who "fixed" the room lamp) saw me taking pictures, she asked why I was taking pictures. I explained my reason to her. She responded that the hotel was private property and that she wanted me to erase the pictures. She said that I should not have taken the pictures. I then told her that the bathroom in room 207 needs a lot of attention. She asked why did I stay the second night or did not say something sooner. The hotel was booked solid and what needs to be done in the bathroom is more than just a slight cleaning; it needs major work. I have stayed at the Super 8 in Sweet Springs and what a contract to this one at Marshall. It is evident that Super 8's corporate office has allowed this Super 8 to continue to go downhill. I suppose whenever Super 8 inspectors appear, they are shown only the "best" rooms in order for them to pass inspection. Believe me, if you don't have to stay here, opt of the Comfort Inn just around the corner. This is the very first time I have ever given a hotel only one star.

I made a reservation for non smoking room but I got smoking one. The bathroom was crazy dirty and the ac didnt work properly. Matress were in bad conditions and the pillows were super thin.

I have stayed at many Super 8's over the years but this one is the worst. When we checked in and went to our room, the room smelled of urine. I reported this to the front desk and the response was to take a can of Febreze into the room and spray in the bathroom and into the air conditioner. When I said that would. It be sufficient and I asked if there was another room I was told there were no other rooms available. I was then told that I had 10 minutes to find another place without being charged for the night. I called the only other place in town - which I knew was nice and had stated there before - didn't have any rooms for the evening. I went back to the front desk and said that I would have to stay because there was no other place available the owner made the comment "it is what it is". Beds uncomfortable, what appeared to be mold painted over in the shower and t.v. That had signal issues

Another couple for Kansas City and us stayed at the Super 8 in Marshall, MO over the solar eclipse weekend. The staff was friendly and very helpful. They worked continuously to serve a full motel. Peggy loaned me an iPhone charger so I could charge my phone. The rooms and public areas were spotless and the small breakfast area was very ample. Thanks to the staff for making this a wonderful stay.

I would recommend this place to all since everything was fine.Rooms were very clean,Breakfast was good, especially freshly made hot waffles. All restaurants are nearby and very convinient.Staff was always ready to help.

The folks at the Super 8 in Marshall were very helpful and friendly - especially the morning desk clerk who went to special effort to make our breakfast enjoyable. The only problem with the room was that the toilet would only flush if you first turned off the water valve at the base of the toilet and then back on again. This had to be done each time the toilet was flushed - a bit inconvenient! Otherwise the stay was nice!

We arrived on Saturday night after 11 p.m. and left the next morning around 10 a.m. and was charged $111.47. The website stated the room would cost $42.00. We were too tired to go someplace else, so we paid the amount. Apparently some event was going on 30 miles away and they raise their rates. It doesn't seem fair to me since we were there to visit my boyfriend's mom's grave and not going to some event we didn't even know about. My boyfriend hasn't been to his mom's grave in 21 years and I finally talked him in to going and it sucked that we had to pay so much for a crappy hotel room. I was given a rewards card to earn points, but I highly doubt we use it unless the rates go back down and we wanna drive 6 hours to go back there. We are from Illinois and only the fancy hotels cost that much. Otherwise, the man at the front desk was friendly, but that's it. The towels were old and rough and we just could not wait to get out of there!

I cannot say enough positive things about the staff at this particular hotel, especially a Ms. Pragma. I had to choose a hotel due to an emergency circumstance in which I had broken down with car problems while traveling across country. I became stranded at a gas station 10 miles outside of this town and was recommended to choose either this or another hotel and happened to choose this one. I was traveling alone with my small dog and it was late at night. The hotel staff was super friendly, understanding and helpful; they even offered a discounted rate due to the late hour and my emergent circumstances. In addition, they assisted me the next day by allowing a late check out while my car was worked on and Ms. Pragma was especially helpful in trying to assist me in making arrangements to take care of the things that I needed. I could not have asked for better service or friendlier people. As a woman traveling alone, I felt safe and secure in this facility and would completely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through.
