Friendly staff, but needs to be cleaner

Each staff member I encountered was very nice!! Friendly and respectful. Our room was generally okay, but really really needs a deep cleaning- not just surface dust.

Not one but TWO rooms were dirty: mold, grungy showers, spotty mirrors, dirty sinks, dirty sock under the bed. Moved from one room to another because of obnoxious screaming-at-0230 neighbors the staff knew about but did nothing. Saw cleaning staff storing their food (muffin, fruit) directly on the "clean" linens on their cart, notified the desk, and saw the same thing again the next day--clearly no action had been taken. Torn and stained box spring covers. Water damage. Malfunctioning hvac unit. Fridge not plugged in upon arrival. Desk staff used phrases like "under renovation" and "under new management" to excuse a lack of basic cleanliness and maintenance. Never seen a Holiday Inn Express like this, and I hope we never will again.

Parking was easy. Check in was easy. My issue was that the room was dirty. There were empty drink bottles under the bed, food, candy wrappers. The carpet felt gross. It looked like someone had been on one of the beds. Sheets had some stains. I checked out early. The hotel would not refund me stating that because I "booked with expedia" they couldn't do anything. They did offer another room but my friends room was just as bad so I the gave up the cost of a night. Poor excuse on the hotels part. I'm not sure if that was true but I will think twice about booking through a travel site in the future.

By far, this was the dirtiest hotel we have ever been in. There was dirt and filth everywhere ... mold in the cracks in the bathrooms. Bathroom sinks and showers did not drain. Absolutely disgusting. I would maybe expect this from a $59 per night hotel room - but not from a Holiday Inn Express at $185 per night. Left and got a different hotel room on nights 2 & 3 ... very frustrating that the hotel or Expedia would not give us a refund. The pictures on Expedia were very misleading - false advertisement at it's finest.

Common areas were clean as was the room. They are renovating the property which is needed. Dated for sure. Front desk staff was friendly but confused at times. Housekeeping staff was very good. Breakfast was decent. Parking seemed safe well lit but curbs in front of spaces were too far out from the property and were easy to hit as was evidenced by how many were crushed and broken. Room was quiet, linens were clean. Good location. Want to visit after renovations are complete.

Desk staff was nice, but the the hotel is very old and should be torn down. For example, black mold in bathroom, bath vent fan spins but doesn't move air, likely plugged up, bath sink very slow to drain, likely plugged up, bath vanity has 1 inch gaps at each end where my toothbrush rolled off and feel onto the dirty floor, the bath shower/tub has lost all its anti-slip nature and is like showering on a sheet of ice, toilet seat is so loose you need a seat belt to feel safe. Windows are paper thin allowing lots of street noise thru. Pool was dirty and not cleaned in days. Health dept should condemn the hotel and tear it down.

Overall pretty disappointed

First room had peeling wallpaper and found mold, got new room quickly, amenities were fine, bedspreads were stained, bathroom was spacious and clean but shower handle was missing and had a rusty rod in its place, so happiness with bathroom was ruined, breakfast was ok, some things good some not, coffee was pretty decent, also pool was extremely small, pictures were misleading

Overall the room and facilities were average. Housekeeping changed sheets and bathroom supplies one day and only changed bathroom supplies on second day. Had to take three cold showers. They said they would take care of problem but didn’t get fixed till 10 pm on my final night, after I had already taken a cold shower. Was told I would get a receipt in three days for some unknown reason. Eight days later and I still haven’t received a receipt. Will never stay there again.
