I do alot of driving on 95 from Fla. to the NorthEast Depending on where I am going and what time I leave Florence is always a great place to stay I wish prices were a little lower all up and down 95 because my profit margin is VERY low so when I travel on weekends Hotels charge even more It hurts my profit . Also All States have MASSIVE Hotel taxes that SUCKS.
I always stop here on my way North and when returning. I always tell my friends about stopping here.
Our room was waiting, clean, no bugs, no bad smells, quiet and safe. I would definitely stay here again. I do think they could do better on the price, though.
Adequate for short term stay. Very comfortable bed and pillow! While the rooms were reasonably clean, permanent stains on bench, carpet and wash clothes are annoying to say the least. Price for three adults was satisfactory. Appliances, A/C, and plumbing all worked fine!
Cordial check and check out ,the normal hotel to use overnight on the way home ,close to Cracker Barrel
We got one of the last rooms due to hurricane Irma, and since we had just driven 700 miles from Panama City Beach we were not too picky. It is a small older motel that is certainly ok for a night or two or when passing thru on the cheap. The motel needs a few more parking places and the continental breakfast room was 8 x10 and crowded so a glass of OJ was about all that could be gotten. Desk help that evening was very nice.
I just want to thank the housekeeping staff at this Super 8 for doing an outstanding job of cleaning the guest rooms. This is an older motel; although the decor has been updated. I was completely impressed with the level of cleanliness of my motel room. We evacuated from FL for Hurricane Irma, and arrived about 10:30pm to this motel after leaving FL at 6am. I was very weary from driving in bumper-to-bumper traffic of evacuees. The front desk attendant was warm and welcoming, and the clean room was a wonderful place to rest! Thank you!
We booked this room through Booking.com and the man called Super 8 and asked the questions about a powered wheelchair and hand rails on left at toilet and he was told room would accommodate a powered wheelchair and yes on handrails. We also called and asked if room would accommodate someone in a powered wheelchair and hand rails on left and we were told it the same. When we got there our young lady in powered wheelchair could just get in the door, we asked lady at desk if they had something else and were told that's it. This was Nascar weekend and taking lady in wheelchair to her first race. We had to rearrange everything in room just to get in and move around. We had a three night stay but due to such cramp conditions we left a day early but because we packed and and took time to put the room back like it was we were late checking. Since we booked through Booking.com we had to go through Booking.com for a refund. Manager out of town on Labor day weekend and had to wait for word on refund. Manager said since we were late checking out would not refund the extra day, I'm sure he just seen lost revenue not the horrific conditions his staff put us in. The three to four times the normal price for a room on race weekend I guess isn't enough.
I have stayed mostly in budget hotels/motels so I know what to expect. This place was not horrible but it is probably the absolute minimum I would ever put up with and sleep in, and will not stay here again. I would rather pay another $10/$20 to have more peace of mind. - It took over 10 minutes to get someone to come to the front desk. Maybe he was in the bathroom or sleeping but I expect a business to run like a business and this was by far the longest wait I ever had to wait for a front desk staff even in late night - The guy was very nice (the only redeeming factor) and tried to help but it was clear he was not well trained as he struggled to check us in and didnt seem well versed with the system. All in all it took is over 30 minutes from parking to get into our rooms, again the longest it ever took in my hotel history (unless you include Disney's hurricane weekend fiasco) - The neighborhood and some guys staying there make you feel like it is a drug infested exchange. Smell of pot everywhere, and not a place you want to spend a second more than needed - The room stank of cigarettes but we decided to put up with it because last time we went to ask for extra bath towels, it took 5 minutes for him to explain to us how he doesnt have any towels there and how he can get is towels first thing in the morning - The room was overall well kept, and looked clean... the bathroom was not in great shape but everything was barely working so we did get to do what we needed to do but that's about it - I was afraid we might run into some vermin but thank god we did not, huge bonus SMH So we got our shower, sleep and got out of there. If this place is more than $20 cheaper than others in the area, and you are on a strict budget, I would say stay there, but make sure you check the room before you accept it, and use it just as a bed for the night. Otherwise just pay more and stay somewhere else.
The quality and the cleanliness leaning of the rooms does not go according to room rate. The Price was too high, also they provide a AAA discount a I pay over $160 for the room.
