Have stayed here a few times in the past six months. Staff is also friendly and quick at check in. If you want to change rooms and they can do it they will. One of the best restaurants is downstairs and the waitstaff is also good. There is an outdoor patio with comfortable seating and is a close walk to other restaurants and bars. All in all easiest place to stay in Florence, and generally rates are good if they are not packed. Have recommended to other out of state businessmen who thanked me when I saw them.

Where do I start? This is my second stay here & was so impressed the first time with the service, decor & quality that I chose to stay here again as I was passing through! This time I was the recipient of The Hotel Florence Lottey & was upgraded to The Penthouse! Wow, Wow, Wow is all I can say! 2 bedroom, 2 bath, large den area & dining area to sit at least 8 people...then the private “balcony”...was a rooftop terrace! I didn’t want to leave! Dinner downstairs was marvelous at Victor’s too! Thank You to the staff & Hotel Florence for making me feel extra special & making normal daily business travel seem like a luxury for once!

We have stayed here many times including a entire week when our son was married. Great service. Comfortable rooms. Each is unique. If staying more than one night or if two in the room, would suggest stepping up to a mini-suite room which gives you more square footage. If traveling as a group the wide-hallways with seating provide great areas for conversation and visits. Staff is very friendly and eager to assist with any request. Restaurant on-site plus several other options within the block. Retail, museum, theatre all within a short walk.

This is an interesting hotel constructed from several old time businesses. When first heading for our room we encountered hardwood flooring then carpet. It all seemed a little choppy until you realize the history. Thinking "what is my room going to look like," we entered and found a modern, cozy, 2 queen bed room. We were there to attend a wedding and the hotel had many other wedding guests from both families from many different places. When I remarked how so very comfortable the beds were, at least 6 others from different rooms agreed. Several even inquired as to what kind of mattresses they were- Serta Perfect Sleeper. The entire staff were great, the housekeepers were friendly and helpful, the restaurant (Victors) was comfortable with friendly staff and good food. We enjoyed the bar in the evening spent with other family members having drinks & food. The hotel staff didn't even complain when we temporarily clogged up the lobby upon arrival and again at checkout. All in all a great experience!

We liked this hotel. It's an old building in the old part of Florence, which is a mix of struggling and renewing. Lots of the elements of a cool hotel are here but something is lacking...it needs a stylist. Someone to pull it together. It wouldn't be that hard and then it would be pretty stellar. That said, it is comfortable and far better than staying at a chain by I-95. And the staff was quite friendly. It's a good place to stay but could be much better.

Florence, SC, is about midway on a driving trip between Northern VA and the Orlando area. We followed a reviewer’s recommendation to skip the generics on I-95 in favor of the short detour into downtown for the Hotel Florence. A smart suggestion. It’s an attractive, clean, and very comfortable boutique type lodging at far below a big-city price. The hotel was an old commercial structure, with the “bones” now transformed into a modern space with simplicity and also character. Check in was easy and our room so relaxing I didn’t want to leave. We enjoyed dinner just a block or so away at the Local Motive brew pub. I’d definitely come back to this hotel, which also has a friendly staff, reliable WiFi, and a delicious restaurant on site for breakfast (did not try it for other meals on just an overnight stay). The downtown area in Florence looks like it’s refurbishing many buildings and has various local shops and several restaurants.

My fiancé and I were looking for a place to spend the night to break up the drive from northern VA to Hilton Head Island, SC last night and found Florence as a good stop. After reviewing options on TripAdvisor we knew Hotel Florence would be the best choice for us. We also knew we would be hungry and the bar at Victor’s looked perfect - and it was! We had the most beautiful suite on the second floor with exposed brick, gorgeous wood floors and an updated classy bathroom. Our dining experience at the bar, from the perfect extra dry martinis Kyle made, the steaks, and the banana cheesecake with praline crust dessert was decadent! We also met such wonderful and interesting people making fast friends. This morning we walked to Long Grain cafe for a yummy and full breakfast. This is such a perfect overnight stop for anyone passing through! We loved everything about the hotel! Donna was so helpful as well when we called to make reservations and then checked last night. Thank you all for such a great time!

My wife and I broke up a January return trip from Florida with an overnight stay in Florence. The hotel was in a renovated storefront in downtown Florence, very accessible off I-95. The furnishings and decor are simple but well done and in excellent condition. Our room, while small, was quiet, comfortable and furnished with very nice amenities and supplies. We had drinks and dinner in the restaurant/bar on the ground level and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, service, liquids and food. It was a very welcome change from the chain motels on the interstate.

If you do not want to stay in one of the chain hotels along I 95, this is the place to go to. Downtown Florence is trying to come back and still has ways to go, but this hotel and its adjacent blocks are promising. The hotel is kind of boutique and might have been a store and warehouse/office building in the old days. Not sure if I like the distressed concrete floor downstairs in the lobby. Lots of arts around and the bar and restaurant are lively and offer good food and drinks, During our first night the bar staff was super efficient and friendly, second night, different staff, not so much. Food service is slow though for dinner, bar menu and breakfast, so be patient. Check in and check out was super efficient and staff could not have been nicer. The rooms are a bit dark with great beds and perfect linen. The bathrooms have been updated, but the room and bathroom miss in a common quality and design theme. For example, great handwash basin with nice fixtures, but plastic insert for shower bathtub. Or nice desk in the room next to a run off the mill black fridge. No view from the window. The second floor lobby is truly nice. Overall a very good stay with room for improvement.

We chose this Ascend collection Hotel because it was the same points as a regular Comfort Inn. Was a little hard to find despite using the GPS. Parking is across the street and it open lot. The clerk that evening was a little preoccupied cutting paper for tomorrow's weather forecast. He did not seem very interested in the fact that I was registering. He gave me my room keys and directions and how to get there but was very distant. Not what I expected out of a class Hotel. We found the room to be very beautiful and extremely spacious. However I did step on a nail that was loose from one of the floorboards the following morning. Despite being Barefoot it did not cut my foot and I appreciated that. I gave it to the hotel clerk who inquired about my foot and said she apologized. We ate at Victor's the in-house restaurant. Very few people were there when we arrived. Breakfast took 35 minutes despite being so few people in the place. My husband ordered a sausage and swiss cheese omelette. I ordered ham and cheese omelette. When it arrived the waitress gave my husband a ham and cheese omelette like mine and apologized that the cheese was cheddar and not Swiss. He told her he ordered a sausage and cheese omelet and she said, quote you can eat this one in the meantime I'll go get you another. He was not interested in to breakfast so waited for the second one in the meantime my omelet grew cold. We were disappointed but please that she took the price of his omelette off of the bill. Despite these few glitches, it is a beautiful place and I could go back.
