I was absolutely floored at how spectacular this hotel is and how great the service was. Really loved the exposed brick and old refurbished wood floors. This is a gorgeous hotel with a top rate hotel staff. I felt so at home here and can't wait to come back.
A restored hotel that retains vintage features but has modern bathrooms. Not high end, but nice. The attached restaurant and bar is excellent. Also has a nice outdoor dining/event area. Friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely come back.
This was the best 10 minute drive off I-95 for sure! My BFF and I were doing a 2 day drive back to FL from MD and Florence was a good half way point. Neither of us wanted to do the I-95 options and we were so happy we found Hotel Florence. From our check in with Ty, who was so welcoming, to our dinner at Victors bar with Wesley taking superb care of us in the meal department, to our check out with Kenny....we couldn't have been happier. Our double queen room was large and comfortable. We will be back for sure!!!!
This hotel is not like your normal hotel located in downtown Florence. The hardwood floors and brick walls added a nice touch. The young lady that works in the restaurant with the short black haircut was beautiful. Kenny at the front desk was very kind and informative during my stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel for adults. Thanks for the southern hospitality.
We enjoyed a wonderful stay and wonderful meal at Hotel Florence and their elegant restaurant Victors owned by Tim and Anne Norwood. The hotel is unique, rooms very pleasant and clean. The staff simply great and professional. The menu at Victors is reflective of the Land and Sea of this inland city that is close to the ocean. You can always tell a great place if locals abound there. This is the case with Victors. Its rare to have the opportunity to be welcomed in in such environments. However, Victors seems to be an ideal setting for mingling. Tim Norwood introduced himself and talked about how Florence has been reborn as a growing cultural and industrial City. The Art Museum is right behind the hotel and well worth a visit also.
I have very mixed feelings about our stay. The hotel is beautifully decorated inside and our room with two queen beds was spacious and clean. The beds were the most comfortable beds I've ever encountered at a hotel. A modest free breakfast was served, with a highlight being wrapped sandwiches one could heat. They were delicious. The breakfast attendant was very pleasant. However, the room was VERY problematic! We stayed in room 107 and it has two windows that connect to a business next door that ARE NOT COVERED UP! One of the most important needs of a person staying at a hotel is the feeling of privacy. I was freaked out because at any given time someone could have looked straight into my room. You also wonder if someone could video you and your loved ones in various stages of undress. When the lights are on, the window glass looks like a mirror (2-sided mirror), but when the lights go out, the business on the other side has a dress hovering in the air. My kids made me sleep with the lights on because they thought it looked like a ghost. Even with the light on you can still faintly see the dress. They were too scared to use the restroom through the night and walk past the "ghost dress." None of us were able to sleep because of it. The hotel owners can fix this problem very cheaply for just a few dollars. Cover the framed window with pretty paper or fabric - since they have molding around them the covered windows will look like decorator choices. But this problem should not go unanswered. It's not okay to have a room where people can watch you at any moment. Otherwise, I would have given this hotel 5 stars.
We do our stop from LI to Fl at Hotel Florence. No matter how long the trip ends up being we are sure to make it here! This place is soo cool! We love it here. Had a slight AC problem and Donna at the desk immediately gave us a new room, with an upgrade! We love staying here
Came to Florence on a business trip and was truly surprised by the charm and hospitality at the Florence Hotel. This restored historical, southern gem offers an upscale yet warm and inviting atmosphere with excellent customer service. My room was gorgeous, bed was very comfortable and the turn down service was a nice touch. The cherry on the cake was the lovely dinner at Victors Restaurant conveniently located in the lobby. Enjoyed the delicious scallop dinner with beautiful piano music I could have heard all night long!
My Wife and I had a day trip planned by the Federal Government in the form of a juror summons. Rather than commute the 80 mile drive we reserved a room at the Hotel Florence for one night. This hotel is in the heart of old Florence which until the last few years was filled with mostly vacant buildings. The area has been blessed with new life as Hotel Florence, boutique style shops and wonderful restaurants including a rooftop bar now open for your business. Hotel Florence is a three story building which is actually two smaller buildings with new construction making it one. The two buildings were around 100 years old and I believe much of the original flooring remains. Beaded board adorns the walls and you feel you have stepped back in time to about 1930. The rooms I suspect were once used as offices and the bathroom could have been storage rooms, are not large. They are cozy, clean and share in taking you back in time. The beds were great too. Our room looked out on the rooftop of an adjoining building so the view was well, just that. The staff were fantastic. Everyone from check in to the cleaning staff could not have been nicer. The continental breakfast was ok with cereal, muffins, coffee and juice. The sweet lady caring for guest needs was wonderful too. Honestly, unless you are in the Florence area on business (and this place would be a must) I think a couple of days would be enough. However if you were exploring the Pee Dee region for a few more days this place is the best. My Wife and I cannot find anything we did not like about this property. If you plan a visit back in time make sure you step across the street and eat at Town Hall. Fantastic food, service and the apple pancake bread pudding is unbelievable!
The Hotel was located in a great area of Florence, walking distance to The new Performing Arts Center. Staff was courteous and helpful. Cheerful and provided good service. In particular Donna Kirby went above and beyond to locate and send us an item we left behind. Thank you Donna. Great restaurant right across the street called the Town Hall. Definitely check it out. Restaurant and bar in the hotel was good too. Our room was huge, clean, and EZ to access. This is where you want to stay when you are in Florence.
