Amazing true Southern hospitality. The staff From the minute we walked in till the early morning that we left with our breakfast to go was a great experience. I've Never been to South Carolina was a little intimidated did not know what to expect completely overwhelmed with the warmth of everybody that we met great restaurant right across the street, what an adorable little up-and-coming area. Billy Walk us to our Room to show it to us before we booked that night we met Peggy the pianist in the bar what a sweet lady and her precious 11 year old dog Cassie. Just a great overall experience would love to have spent more time there...maybe next time. Noell a Yankee. New Hampshire loves South Carolina.
My husband and I stayed here on our way back from Florida. What a fun place! A lot of character and very clean and comfortable. Ate dinner at Victor’s restaurant in the hotel and was really pleased with the meal and service. Will Definitely stop here again!
Beautiful building in downtown area - in very historical building. Everyone on staff was pleasant and helpful. Everything was very nice and clean. We arrived late but were able to order sandwiches at the bar - a little expensive. Free Parking is out back which you would not know unless you asked but you can park on the street if you move by 9:30 am the next day. We had a room with a queen bed and the room was very small. No closet, ironing board, microwave or refrigerator. There was a hair dryer in a cloth bag on the back of the bathroom door. Bathroom had a beautiful sink but there was very little room to put anything like our toiletries, etc. All in all, it was a wonderful luxury hotel if you needed somewhere for a short stay.
We stopped at this hotel on our way from Richmond to Charleston. The hotel is beautiful, and the restaurant inside was delicious. The front desk service was excellent. They let us leave our car loaded with luggage just in front of the hotel. Then, when we left, I forgot some medecine in the fridge. The maid found it, and Donna from the front desk called me. She then took the time to organize a FedEx to my next hotel which I received less than 24 hours later. Thank you Donna! Florence is trying to revitalize their downtown. Please go stay at this very nice hotel and support the local stores taking the risk to set up in this area.
We decided to stop around Florence SC and we found Hotel Florence highly recommended on trip advisor. This is a wonderful place to stay. The art work is incredible and truly sets this lobby to a different standard. Great rooms friendly staff and wonderful restaurant. This revitalized area the hotel is located is gorgeous.
I spent 2 weeks in this hotel as part of a business trip. It is definitely not a boring cookie cutter chain hotel room, but a unique property with some interesting historic features. Each room is unique. I got to stay in 4 of them - there was a noise issue that required moving around a bit. This may be better when some local construction is finished - they are rebuilding and renovating the downtown area, and they start working early. When finally got a quiet one, the mattress wasn't the best, but it wasn't terrible and I am very picky about mattresses, so I bet most people would find it fine. There is a nice restaurant with good food, variable service, a bit pricey. Several other interesting dining options in the neighborhood, within a block or two. Staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms very clean and comfortable. Fitness center is average. Wifi and business center good. The Spa attached nextdoor was good - I had a very good massage there.
We were hosting a business event at Victors in the Hotel Florence and decided to have our staff stay there. We all loved it! The rooms are very well-appointed, clean, and comfortable. The location can't be beat! And there is free parking galore. The staff is warm and welcoming. I had a smaller room, which was fine since I was by myself, but if you're traveling with your spouse/significant other, you might want to request a larger room. We liked our event so much, we all had breakfast at Victors the next day. Delicious! A great find--we'll be back soon and often.
My wife and I decided to take the extra drive from I 95 to see the town. Check in was excellent and expedient, with a good local lesson from the staff. Room was clean and quiet, with a nice foyer on the 2nd floor. We will be back.
Most of the places to stay in Florence, SC are right off of the freeway exits but this place is a few miles away in the historic yet revitalized downtown area. In my opinion, downtown is the only nice looking part of the city. Like many of the businesses in the immediate area, the outside of the building looks old but the inside looks brand new. We enjoyed everything about our stay including the nice room, quality mattress, modern bathroom, great restaurant and the quality service. Donna K was especially helpful at the front desk. She is what southern hospitality/charm is all about.
We stayed at Hotel Florence over Thanksgiving weekend. This is a nice property. It is an old textile facility of some sort that has been renovated. The combination of modern decor and old architecture works well. Overall the staff was helpful. Some of the folks are new, but they performed their jobs well. Some of the guest, on the other hand, need to practice a little southern hospitality when they visit the South. The hotel is located in old downtown Florence. I had not been in the area in years. A lot of work is being invested in re-developing this area. We will have reason to return since we have family that have relocated to the area. This will likely be our first choice to stay when we return.
