Days Inn Charlottesville/University Area

Over-priced for a very low-end property. Nothing has been re-invested in this property, with holes in the carpet, cigarette burns in the comforter, no drain cover in the sink. The noise from upstairs/outside simply permeates the walls/windows and while, let there be no mistake, this is a motel, but given the other options in Charlottesville, this would be my last choice.

I was on a road trip to move from TX to NY permanently for a new job, and we booked the hotels along the way, usually around 5pm everyday depending on how far we could make it that day. Booking on orbitz was super easy, price was competitive, all we did upon arrival was to get the key and go for bed.

The Days Inn was in a good location to my departure airport with an excellent price through Orbitz.com.

The room was very nice and clean. Since I was not planning on spending my time at the hotel, I never need all the fancy amenities. The downside was that the remote did not work so I could not get the weather.

People really were noisey at night, the beds were hard, the shower/tub needed work done, had an odor in the room.

The only complaint i have is the snack machine was out if order. I will be staying again next time im in the area.

Booked on last minute on a football weekend so wasn't expecting much and didn't get much. Location is central (on US 29) though not easily walkable to the University or downtown Charlottesville. Hotel is dated and has seen a lot of wear and tear. Ended up with a smoking room as it was apparently the last room left in the hotel. I am pretty tolerant but smell of smoke was so overwhelming that one felt like one was sleeping in an ash tray. The cigarette burns on the sheets and bedspreads just added to the atmosphere. The hotel did switch us the next day to a non smoking room but it was only marginally better. The sink counter was cracked in the middle. The heating/air conditioning unit in both rooms worked but functioned in a bizarre manner, noisily coming on for about one minute, shutting off for about five minutes, only to repeat the cycle. A bit odd to say the least. On the plus side, the staff was reasonably friendly and the rooms were clean.

Wash cloths dirty then folded clean side out, no ashtrays in a smoking room. TV channels didn't match hotel listings.

Room clean but shower/tub showing wear. Carpet looked clean but stained. Overall ok for the price.

Everything was new and redone. Great value for the price in Charlottesville.

Great location. It was an easy in and out for parking. Definitely will stay again.

VERY GOOD AND QUIET THAT WHAT I NEEDED. It met all of my needs. And a good value for price. Location was awesome.

The room had recently been refurbished top to bottom - new bedding, carpet and furnishings. We were able to park close to our room entrance and appreciated that convenience. Staff was very pleasant and the room was fresh and clean. I would definitely stay here again.

I booked this hotel for my dad while he was in town. Luckily, he hadn't planned on spending much time in the hotel. To be fair, you get what you pay for, and the price was super cheap.

Redone rooms were clean, beds excellent and the price on a UVA football weekend very reasonable. The morning after breakfast ample for all but the hearty eaters. When the renovations are finished, this will be a target anchor for our future visits to Charlottesville.

We had a wedding to attend our wardrobe got a bit muffled in the suitcase. But in our room we had an iron and table. Fantastic.

Great location with a family member in medical center. Cost was well worth the stay.

It's an OK but falls short of my expectation. we were in a business training and conference meeting. While we not not have the time to explore the city, we enjoyed the scenery and the historic background of the City of Thomas Jefferson. We'll be back.

The room was fine but the mattress was thin and hard.

When we checked in there was no water at all. That's because they shut it off to accommodate the hotel being built right next door. That hotel as of mid-April is nothing but a giant mud hole. So expect construction noise for months. Then the water came back on, but there was no hot water. We called the front desk, where the clerk said it was too late to disturb his boss.

Thank you for the feedback. We are working on making renovations to the tub/showers. The odor in the room are being resolved with the PM. We are very sorry for the inconvenience of the noisy crowd. We are working to control the type of people checking in.
