Board one of the many flights from Newark to Phoenix, and you’ll leave behind the ever-changing Northeastern weather for one of the sunniest cities in the United States. Get started on your Southwestern adventure by visiting Orbitz.com, where you’ll have access to some of the most affordable travel rates available.
The Newark International Airport (1 Brewster Road, Newark) is located less than five miles south of Newark’s central business district and just thirteen miles southwest of New York City. Travelers using Amtrak or public transportation can connect to the airport for just $5.50 using AirTrain, which operates twenty-four hours a day. The Newark Airport Express Bus charges $16 for a one-way ticket or $28 for a round-trip fare. Several taxi companies offer ground transportation to the airport from the city for a fare of between $15 and $18. If you choose to drive to the airport, you’ll find parking available in the short-term lot for a maximum charge of $33 per day, while the three daily lots charge between $24 and $27 per day. The long-term parking lot charges $18 for the first twenty-four hours and $6 for each additional eight-hour period.
The Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (3400 East Sky Harbor Boulevard, Phoenix) is conveniently located less than seven miles east of downtown Phoenix with easy access via I-10 and Sky Harbor Boulevard. Phoenix does occasionally experience inclement weather, but for the most part, you should expect warm days and sunny skies. If you are planning outdoor activities during your visit, you may want to avoid the summer months, when temperatures soar into the triple digits. During the winter, daytime temperatures average in the mid-60s, but evenings can be cool. While you’re in the city, make time to visit the Heard Museum, the Desert Botanical Garden, and the Phoenix Zoo. If the weather permits, head over to Camelback Mountain or the Phoenix Mountain Preserve for some hiking, biking, and nature watching.
Whether you’re looking for urban adventure or outdoor exploration, you’ll find plenty to see and do in the Phoenix area. When you’re ready to make your travel arrangements, be sure to visit Orbitz.com, where you can compare rates on flights from Newark to Phoenix, book your hotel room, and reserve a rental car all in one place.
