Salt Lake City is a haven for skiers and snowboarders, but sometimes you just want to get away to the sunshine and warmth of a place like San Diego. Use the booking tools on Orbitz.com to get discounts on flights from Salt Lake City to San Diego.
The Salt Lake City International Airport is located a short four-mile drive from the central business district and has plenty of travel options. Hourly and daily parking right near the terminal will cost $28 per day. If you are staying more than a few days, the economy lot is a more affordable option at only $9 per day, and free shuttle service is offered from the economy lot to the terminal. You can also take a public bus to the airport for $2.25.
San Diego International Airport has transportation plazas located across the street from both terminals. In these plazas, a wide variety of shuttle services, taxicabs, and buses will be ready to take you anywhere in the city or the surrounding metro area. From Terminal 1, you must cross the sky bridge and take the escalator or elevator to the first level to get to the transportation plaza. From Terminal 2, you can simply use the pedestrian crosswalk. No matter what time of year you arrive, you likely won’t need a heavy winter coat, because the average winter high is around 65°F and temperatures rise to the mid-70s during the summer. Enjoy the many museums and cultural attractions, or take advantage of the close proximity to the beach to get a tan or be a part of the area’s big surf culture.
