Very poor service on all levels. I was told 4 hours before my arrival that my reservation may not be valid. Called the hotel, they assured me all was fine. One hour later I received a text saying my reservation had problems. When I asked the sender’s name: nothing. Arrived at the hotel to find that the room that I had reserved through Expedia specifically for its ‘city view’ was in fact on the first floor. Instead of trying to fix things, they tried to convince me that across the street comprised a city view. They offered me another room two floors higher if I was willing to wait a couple of hours. Nothing was offered in compensation for the stress of an unsure reservation, or having to wait for them to try—fruitlessly — to rectify the situation for the simple reason that a room with two beds and a genuine view does not exist at this property, and Expedia advertises that it does. Having lost our dinner reservations because of wasting time at check in, we elected to eat on the terraza, but when our food arrived, it was cold. The following day, we left for 4 hours having carefully put out the ‘please make up the room sign’. We returned to the same room, not made up. However, on the morning of the day of our checkout, the cleaning lady burst into the room without knocking. If she didn’t know it was our checkout day, something is clearly amiss. At checkout, a peak hour at any reception desk, there was one clerk, hopelessly overwhelmed. I gave keys to porter and left.
