Upon arrival I was very excited about this recently renovated property. In fact, I rated the checkin easy and fast. However, once the sun went down, the lights around the entire facility came on! BEAMING! They go around the entire lot, and I am pretty sure they are as bright as daylight. The blackout blinds do nothing to assist as they are set too far out from the wall, letting the light pollution in. Also the floors let every sound above you be heard. This is a more common occurrence in properties, but needed mentioning. The rooms were very clean and staff was delightful and accommodating. The breakfast was what expected, but get there early as they don’t seem to replenish the supply once it is depleted. There are a few restaurants within walking distance, and a new gas’s station/convenience store about to open at the end of the block. I personally would not stay here again exclusively due to the bright lights in the parking lot, but if that doesn’t bother you, everything else was great! Oh, and even though close to the freeway, our room was very quiet. No noise from outside the hotel was heard.

The staff at check in and check out were very friendly. The room, however, had an overpowering musty odor. It is very hot and humid in Iowa, but the smell was offensive. Also, not my taste of decor: black gauzy sheer drapes made the room feel like it was cheap and not the LaQuinta we expected.

Overall, a nice stay. clean. very bright lights outside all night and glowed around the black out curtains. Room door was very loud going in and out. Couldn't be quiet entering or leaving room.

The property was amazing. The pool was loud and crazy as a team of soccer players and families were playing football in the pool and kept just missing us with the ball. I sat on stairs and still got soaked from the ball sizing by. The pool area had trash. The rest was great and clean.

There wasn’t a single smiling face amongst the staff. They continually acted like they were inconvenienced and unhappy to be there, and that dramatically impacted our experience. The rooms were mediocre the pool and hot tub or mediocre. The breakfast was mediocre. The staff really ruined it for us.

The staff were kind, welcoming and helpful. The suite was clean and comfortable. There wasn’t a lot of grass to walk the dogs and other patrons didn’t clean up after their dogs.
