I was bumped from a property that I booked specifically for its location in reference to a conference I was attending. I was informed as I was traveling to the hotel - that they overbooked and they eliminated all of the lesser important bonvoy members….. so my prepaid reservation meant nothing! I was moved 2 miles away- it cost me several uber and taxi trips back and forth to where my obligations were. Then when I was told where they could put me- they only had one night available. I had to book the additional night myself, on a third party because no one at the property could help me. Then I was asked to move rooms with 15 minutes notice before I had to leave to get to the conference. Which I couldn’t do - and the manager finally over rode the block on our room to allow me to stay in the same room for 2 nights. No one seemed to be able to help me or explain what exactly had happened to begin with. It was intensely frustrating and far less than the service level I would expect from a Marriott high profile property. In fact, the worst service I have had lately!
