Stopped in for the night. Quick check in. I booked a King room but ended up with a double queen. Entered the room and it was freezing. Would have been nice if they had pre-warmed it. Had to leave for an hour before the room was warm enough to stay in. Breakfast was kinda lame this morning. Only 6 sausages, cold boiled eggs, 3 muffins, 10 bagels, some bread and cereal available. Usually they have more for 8:00 am but not today.
Signage wasn't very visable from highway. Were looking for Super 8 but missed it and had to back track.
The staff was friendly. The hotel was clean. The only thing I didn't like was being charged for a safe in my room when I didn't ask for one.
The hotel is a "typical oil" hotel. Having a room on the same floor as a work crew is just nasty. Foreman banging on everyone's door at 5 am. Not thrilled. Perhaps front desk could put NONE oil patch on a separate floor-- would only take a few minutes to ask a few questions. Won't be back.
The staff are the best always friendly the rooms are very clean the breakfast room always clean never had any problems when we stay there.
Stopped in Whitecourt overnight while going to Edmonton for a Concert. The Super 8 was easy to get into, so decided to stay. The room was small, but was well maintained and clean. Wife and I prefer a King Sized bed, but settled for 2 Queens which were comfortable. Wanted to have a drink in the room before bed, and discovered the one ice machine for the entire Hotel, had broken down. Not the end of the world, but was surprised there was only one machine available. The check-in and check-out was handled very efficiently and we found the staff to be welcoming. we passed on the complimentary Hot Breakfast as we preferred to eat elsewhere, however, I did check out the Breakfast Facility, and it looked to be very nice. There was a good selection of juices, and the main offerings included Sausage Patties, Egg Rounds and Pancakes. Would stay again.
It was a number of years since I stayed at the Super 8 in Whitecourt. I must say that although the staff ( front desk ) were extremely polite and very accommodating, your hotel is very dated and badly in need of a facelift. Rooms , decor, and even the breakfast area along with the menu most certainly needs to be upgraded. When there is an abundance of rooms available I know Super 8 wouldn't be my first choice.
Tiles were cracked and broken around jacuzzi and lots of rust on fixtures. Couch was falling apart.
The hotel was great, staff seemed over worked and multi tasking which took a little longer at the front desk if something was needed. The rooms were clean and comfortable and updated which is nice to see. The only issue was the crew workers that left at 5 AM were very noisy. Next time i return to this hotel i would as for a floor that is away from any crews.
Hotel was good. Staff helped with my large group to the best they could, and made continual contact to ensure good stay
