Room smelled heavily of disinfectant. When I complained to the front desk the woman said she would try and find us another room if the condition persisted. No apology for the situation. Later we found mildew in the shower and the shower soap dish non existent (was a hole in the tile where it should have been. This time I demanded a new room and was eventually accommodated. Once again, no apology from the desk person. Extremely poor customer service.
We usually stay at country inns and suites. This was not as nice as many we have stayed at but it was ok. For the events we had planned it was very convenient.... the baseball stadium, downtown and local tours. The breakfast was good...especially the breakfast tacos! Very friendly staff...clean but you could tell it's an older facility
When we checked in I knew I should have gone elsewhere. There was nowhere to sit there weee tables piled up in the front area where I assume furniture would normally be. You couldn't go into "the tiny breakfast area. The walls were tore up. The trash was overflowing and stayed like that the entire time. The floors had spills on them that nobody cleaned up. The pool filter was not working. Could not get into the pool area. Lady at the front desk huffed and told me to try again when trying to access pool area she finally came to open it which would not open for her. Bathroom was dirty!! See pics! Definitely contacting Coporate about the condition and staff at this place
The prefect place to stay when you want to feel comfort and warmth. The rooms and bathrooms are always clean and the decor is cozy but up to date. Nice indoor pool and workout area and walking distance to several places to eat.
In May, I had to attend for the first time the 2017 Digital Summit hosted at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. As I started researching my lodging, the conference was recommending hotels starting at $200. Since I was on a tight budget, that cost was a non-starter. With the assistance of some online travel resources (i.e. Orbitz.com and Travelocity.com), I was able to find hotels nearby for more affordable prices. I selected Country Inn & Suites in Smyrna (GA) because of its proximity to the conference, cost, good ratings, and amenities. In a nutshell, I opted for the best value. In some cases, I have been disappointed with the outcomes on some online selections. In this situation, I was pleasantly surprised! Finding the hotel was easy despite the typical Atlanta traffic. In fact, it is an excellent choice if you have a function at the Cobb Performing Arts Centre; it’s about 10 minutes away on I-285. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the hotel reservation representative. Checking was very easy. This employee went out of his way to help us become familiar with the hotel amenities. (To my surprise, this employee was actually the hotel general manager – Deante Morgan). The hotel contains a variety of amenities including a small business center, fitness center, and indoor swimming pool. Our room (#319) was quietly located on the 3rd floor with one king size bed with a studio format. Wi-fi was free and excellent (I was able to stream movies with no problem from my room). There is a hot complimentary breakfast serving eggs, meat, breads, cereal, and fruit. The breakfast was another good value. Additionally, guests are offered complimentary cookies and coffee in the lobby during happy hours (after 4pm). That was a nice touch. There was plenty of free parking. Although there was no restaurant at this hotel, there were numerous restaurants within driving range. I would highly recommend to travel savvy guest who want a good value while attending a major event nearby.
This hotel was clean, and staff were excellent. This area is very convenient to the city. It was seemingly centrally located. Lisa, Vanessa and Jennifer H was the best! I needed extra pillows and the wait was less than 5 minutes. The breakfast was hot and fruit fresh. You had the option of paper or china for service which was a nice touch. There was always fresh cookies available for snacks. The stay was absolutely worth it.
When we checked in, staff was friendly. It would have been nice had they told us about the "manager's reception" cocktail time rather than after the fact when I asked if I could buy a glass of wine or something and was told I missed it! So, there is ONLY a front desk person in the evenings. If you need anything, you are SOL. Suite said sleeps 5-that means 3 to the king bed. Then there were no pillows blankets, etc for the sofa sleeper and only towels/washcloths for 3. I went down, was piled over my chin with things to carry up myself because they have no one. The next night-dropped kids off in GA, Hubby and son were in the pool. Our phones, money clothes, and dinner were in the room. Key to the door didnt work. Had to call maintenance man after calling the manager who didnt answer her phone (both were off for the evening) and wait until maintenance got there and changed out the entire door lock system. It was over 2 hours of being locked out (think cold, wet, hungry people with no clothes) and we didnt get into our room to our phones, dinner, etc until after 9pm. Sad excuse for a hotel. I was told we would be credited a partial credit for the time locked out,but that didn't happen. So, if you want to fetch your own blankets, towels, pillows, and dont mind if your door key system dies and there is no-one there to let you in your room, then it's ok. Oh, breakfast attendant was very nice, but don't eat the French toast-hard as a rock! Oh, and its a no smoking hotel, but when we arrived. the 4th floor was filled with marijuana and the music in other rooms was ridiculous. They were socializing/smoking between the rooms, which was not great for my kids.
My brother had a Goalball tournament on Mother's Day weekend. So I needed to find a hotel that was close to the Community Center he was playing at, free internet, free breakfast, a pool, and was in my budget. Country Inn & Suites fulfilled all my request. Check in was wonderful. Rooms were very clean. Entire staff was friendly. And every where my family and I went was approximately about a 20 minute drive from the hotel. I will be making sure the next time I come to the Atlanta area that Country Inn & Suites will be my first choice.
Staff was friendly and met our needs. Printer in Business Center did not work but desk attendant printed them off of her email for me. Rooms were clean but not quiet. People above us had to be reported twice. Woke up tired two mornings.
Okay, but not up to par for Country Inns. Old & worn. The chair was coming apart, the toilet seat was crooked and very loose and wobbly, and there was trash by the bed. There was only 1 usable electric outlet, by the desk, with the lamp & coffee maker plugged in. Fortunately we bring a power strip. On the plus side, the desk staff and the breakfast lady were very friendly.
