Between the amazing location in the heart the Kent, WA industrial district and the superb gym facilities, this place has a lot to offer. I felt very secure when asked to leave a CASH deposit of $200 for our one night stay, especially without a receipt to show for it. Walking past the vape smoke and quaint molding wood porches, one garners a sense of calm and peace at The Hawthorn Suites. A must-stay for sure!

First room was dirty...ragged carpet from bedroom area to bathroom. Missing a knob on one of the dresser drawers, hand/fingerprints on the hair dryer and door jambs. Tried to upgrade us to another room and keys wouldn’t work. Waited at least 30 minutes to figure that out. Don’t look inside your kitchen stove...trust me, just don’t. Then our “neighbor” told us their work truck got windows broke out and tools stolen the night before. Ugh! We stayed here many times before quite a few years ago and it was great! Won’t stay here again!

The first room was smokey. We could hear the couple upstairs having sex( thank goodness he was a two minute man) no clock

The staff was not friendly, took us 15 minutes to get checked in and the same to get checked out. They require a cash deposit on their rooms which we were not prepared for. At checkout we had to wait along with several other guest until someone checked the rooms. The room was okay, but there was garbage int he closet from the past guest.

The suite is surprisingly cozy. Enough to do cooking and enough space to lounge and relax. The service staff was extremely congenial, however, being that the staff were Spanish and some could not comprehend nor understand simple English, that took off points on my rating. With that said, its a great place for the weekend getaway.

First room had no working phone, extremely hot upon entry, strong cleaning product odor to cover the heavy smoke smell even though it was supposed to be smoke free. They moved us to another room which was great for the night until the lock broke in the morning and access was denied. Moved to a third room which was fine except for the burned out light bulbs, lack of extra bedding, and limited kitchenware. Breakfast was limited and having stayed here multiple times in the past, I knew what to expect. I'll be looking elsewhere for next year.

There was someone's dirty boot left in the kitchen chair when we arrived. Mold/mildew under soap tray in bathroom. Requested an extra towel which we said we could come pick up at desk (there were only 2 thin towels in room to use). They told us they were all out and it would be late morning before they had anymore. We ended up going and buying some. But kitchen was nice amount of space. Internet was REALLY slow.

The staff was very bland and not very friendly. Never greeted me anytime I walked in especially when I checked in. The only nice staff member was the Hispanic lady in the AM monitoring breakfast hour. She was super friendly and greeted everyone with a big smile. I was informed I would be receiving a upper level suite and got ground level instead. There was a very loud, constant humming noise coming from the “machine” in the front closet. The on/off switch didn’t make any difference in stopping that. The tub was nice but a bit dirty and needed some serious re-caulking and the water got cold REALLY FAST. I’ve never experienced that at a hotel before....The fan in the bathroom didn’t work. Our “do not disturb sign” was taken off our door and on placed on the ground? Don’t know why. The housekeepers kept knocking and knocking when the “do not disturb” sign WAS actually on the door. The breakfast was super yummy, I enjoyed that a lot. And the bed was super comfy! I would stay here again I just think it’s over priced for my liking.

My room at the hotel was in a quiet area. The room was clean and comfortable. We did notice some small gnats on the table that we attributed to the local area. Otherwise, there were no problems during the stay.

Good location and value for the money. It's a bachelor apartment with full sized fridge, stove and dishwasher. I was pleasantly surprised by the size and amenities.
