We enjoyed our stay at Maya Villa. We had a wonderful room and it was kept very clean by Zaqra Matus. We were pleased with our accommodations. If you can not do steps, there is no elevator and the pool was a bit small, but very pretty.
If I go back to Playa del Camen I will definitely stay at Maya Villa again. The rooms were clean and bright. The personel were exceptional. Amenities were very nice. We had free massages, picture passes to charge at certain restaurants to our room, room service, 15% discount at multiple eateries. We were one block from the beach and one block from 5th ave. It was a little confusing at check in since the office is located at the corner where the Plank and Gym are located, but not a big deal, we figured it out. Everyone who was affiliated with the hotel was friendly, and Victor gets special word for waiting with us and talking with us while we waited for our shuttle back to the airport. Really a great place at a great value!
This is our 4th year renting from the Maya Villa condos. The condos are very nice and well maintained. The location cannot be beat as it is steps away from the beach , shopping, and the "gym". The "gym" is an amazing workout club 2 minutes away and it is included in the rental fee. You can also opt to get your breakfast included which we always do as it is FABULOUS.You can eat down at the beach and/or at the Imprevist restaurant just below the condos on a very quaint street. The Indigo beach club is where breakfast is served on the beach and it is also inlcuded in the price of the rental. The vibe and service is excellent and they play amazing music which really adds to the ambiance. We stayed in apt 405. Al the condos are quiet even though they are steps away from the club area as they have installed heavy duty windows. Also the waterfall inside the complex mutes any street noise .e The only drawback is that I find the beds hard. We go up tot the Mega super store and get extra padding for $40.00 Canadian. It helps and it would be great if they would spend money on better padding for the beds!
The condo was great, clean, big, as describe and like the pictures. Very close to 5th av. near to restaurants and shopping. Great wifi, private parking lot to the car. the staff was very nice and helpful, answer any question we had.
Our first trip as a family to Playa del Carmen. It was incredible. The unit was perfect for us... centrally located 1 block from the beach and 1 block from all the fun on Avenue 5. The place was spacious, comfortable, and the staff was accommodating. We were traveling with two teenage children and the location was perfect for what we wanted to do. Of course every place has it's pluses and minuses. Here is a brief run down: PLUSES: 1. Property is centrally located to the Playa beach and Avenue 5 2. Spacious accommodations. 3. Great and friendly staff 4. Awesome WiFi connection both in room AND at the beach. 5. Love the filtered water cooler! BYO water bottles to fill during your stay! 6. The little balcony off the room was neat! It was so nice to sit out there, decompress and watch the town traffic float by. 7. The windows and slider doors in the unit provided great noise reduction when closed. The location of the Maya Villa can get pretty loud when the windows are open. MINUSES: 1. Shower heads in the bathrooms need updating. Plenty of hot water but it took a while to get all the soap off with the erratic spray. 2. The swimming pool at Maya Villa is nice but very small... but the proximity to the beach makes up for it. 3. Beds are a little on the firm side. If you like a soft bed, you might be disappointed.
We enjoyed our condo stay and the space the condo provided. The location is great, close to the Beach Club and 5th Avenue. The pool at the condo is small and more decorative than anything. It is beautiful but if you have active kids, who like to swim in the pool a lot, be prepared. There isn't a lot of space to goof around. The Beach Club was nice but the location wasn't great for our family. All the fishing boats are docked here which prohibits any swimming in the area. You have to walk a distance to get to a beach area that is good for swimming. This isn't necessarily a bad thing but you are without any chairs or seating when you do this. The kids did enjoy the body boards that the concierge provided. I highly recommend spending the extra and including the breakfast with your stay. Imprevist and The Beach Club had great breakfasts that helped start the day off right. Imprevist was our favourite! The staff there are friendly, helpful and welcoming. The wifi internet access was very reliable. All in all it was a great trip!
stay was wonderful, condo was perfect for a group of friends. close to the beach and town. staff was very friendly and helpful. the rooftop was beautiful, and everything was clean. great to have a kitchen
Our family had the pleasure of spending 10 days at Maya Villa in room 409. It was everything we hoped it would be and more, Maya Villa has that "it" factor. The moment you walk in you just want to let out a deep breath and immediately relax. Maya Villa is tucked around the corner of 5th Avenue which is the tourist hot spot in Playa. It is a bustling street with many stores, restaurants, street vendors and performers. It is also minutes from the beach. While there is certainly a beach very close we chose to walk further down towards the Cozumel ferry terminal. We liked that section of beach the most. One day we did use the shuttle provided by Maya Villa to go to Encanto Beach Club. While the beach there was beautiful and the staff wonderful, there were rocks in the water and a bad smell. We much preferred the beach by Wah Wah's beach club. Our room was perfect for our family. We felt like we had our own little oasis tucked at the back of the Maya Villa complex. We had a large enclosed area off the back where the hot tub was. This area was accessible from the main living room and the master bedroom. Entering the condo you walked the length of the pool (which was nice walking past the nice outdoor furniture/umbrella area and the beautiful waterfall) and then down a few stairs where there were fish in the area beside the stairs to where our outside table was. We spent many evenings here. Of course being on the ground floor we did have people over us but we only heard them once during the 10 days and it wasn't disruptive, we just happened to hear them moving about. The sound proofing is great. The kitchen is well outfitted. We cooked most of our suppers at "home" and we had everything we needed to make this happen comfortably. There was actually lots of extra cutlery, dishware and glasses in the area between the bedrooms with a mini fridge and an extra sink. There is a water cooler in the kitchen with water provided which was wonderful. There are tv's in the living room and both bedrooms. We had the one on in the living room a few times and it worked fine. We thought this condo was laid out very well. I would describe as being a "T" with the bedrooms being at either ends of the T. The master bedroom is behind the kitchen (it's beautiful). There is so much storage I don't think you could ever fill it. There is a king size bed and a beautiful stone wall behind the bed. I thought the bed was very hard but the people sleeping in it thought it was fine. The master bathroom is very nice. There are patio doors in this room leading to the back area where the hot tub is. If you turn right instead of left (which enters the Master) you enter a little hallway which has it's own door. Then on the left is a full, beautiful bathroom which a shower (no bathtubs) and on the right is the little extra kitchen area with cabinets, dishes, sink, and a mini fridge then you enter the 2nd bedroom which has another door. So lots of privacy if you want it, if not just leave the doors open. We asked for the two twin beds to be made into a king bed before our arrival. This was done and it was nice to arrive and just have everything ready. This bedroom also has lots of storage, a tv, another safe and 2 night stands. There are also patio doors in this room which lead out to the entrance direction of the condo. There is lots of light in this room. There are also black out curtains to keep it dark when you want it dark. I was a little worried about the size of pool before arriving. It turned out great. It is small and curvy but it fine. There is a shallow area to enter and a wonderful waterfall in the deeper section. If you want to swim you can do laps, hop in and cool off or just lounge down by the waterfall. It is cooler than I expected but not too cold we couldn't get in. The hot tub is lovely. When we booked we received the breakfast included. WOW!!! This is such a perk of this condo. Breakfast is amazing. There are two breakfast options, one is Imprevist which is literally outside the front door of the hotel and the other is Indigo Beach Club on the beach. We started at Imprevist and were so impressed we didn't check out Indigo until the very end of our trip. I can't say enough positive things about this wonderful little restaurant. The staff are amazing, the setting whether inside or out on the sidewalk patio is charming and the food, incredible. Breakfast includes coffee/tea and juice, then a basket of pastries, then a fruit plate with granola, honey and yogurt and then your main dish that you order from about 15 options - all are delicious. Once we decided to check out Indigo we were impressed there too. It's hard not to enjoy sitting on the beach eating a wonderful breakfast. Both of these are fantastic but Imprevist is a very special place. Just a few things to note: checkin is at Porta Playa which is just up the block - easy but worth mentioning, we borrowed toys from concierge which saved lots of space in our luggage. They also had plenty of books to borrow there. - ice was supplied from Porta Playa, we picked it up when we thought of it but they also delivered if we requested ice. We went to a Laundromat just up the road - Lavafacile. $5.00 for lots of laundry. We dropped it off in the morning and picked up in the evening all washed, dried and folded but I was missing a dress upon pickup. Also - the maids service at this hotel is great. We arrived to a spotless condo and when we chose to have maid service we were equally impressed each time. I'm sure sand is their nemesis but these lovely ladies did a wonderful job. We had a wonderful time in Playa Del Carmen and if we return we will be staying at Maya Villa again with hesitation.
Maya Villa is a very impressive condo club. Our family of 4 (two daughters 14 & 17) stayed in unit 403 with a private penthouse patio and a very nice view of the ocean. The unit was very clean with nice accommodations and artwork. Maya is well located a block from the beach and a block off of 5th ave. There is a wonderful restaurant right next door, Impriviste, where we ate breakfast and a dinner; excellent food! Maya exceeded our expectations. For the traveler who cares about comfort, quality and location the Maya Beach Club is a first choice.
Employees are very kind, specially Carlos who helped us to carry the luggages. The apartment is comfortable, clean and cosy. Infrastructure is amazing, with beach clubs, nice restaurants and a very good gym.
