Loved the maps decorating the Hotel. Great location.

Spacious, well appointed room; friendly and efficient staff.

My wife and I have stayed at the Berkeley a number of times, and always had a reasonably good experience. The price is right and the room and guest service is good. The location is great. In previous stays we found the food OK, but not great, and we generally just ate elsewhere. This stay we were limited by time and had to eat at the hotel. BAD. Crab meat was off and my burger was, at best fair. We would have been better off eating at McDonalds.

The Berkely is the elegant little secret in the old part of RIchmond. On the Cobblestone street opposite older warehouse building in "The Bottom", the Berkely is located near just about everything with a quickie cab ride to everything else. The hotel makes up for in comfort what it may not have in expensive amenities and that is reflected in their rates. A "good", up market dining experience can be had in the restaurant, drinks are what we went for in the bar with some light fare before our theatre experience. If you're looking for interesting and very reasonable dining, great food can be had all over Richmond for less that you would pay at the Berkely. That said, it's hard to beat their room service breakfast - full, hot breakfast w/juice and tea or coffee for $16.75??? How can you NOT get breakfast in bed?? Comfortable and clean rooms, get upgraded to a suite and enjoy the balcony - 6th floor is the best.

We actually had dinner at the Hotel, instead of going out and we were definitely not disappointed. Atmosphere, the food and the service were all Excellent!.

Front desk and restaurant staff were friendly, quick and helpful. While housekeeping & roomswevice were friendly, they were highly inefficient. Two days housekeeping didn't replenish bath amenities or breakfast hanger, Room was never dusted, not even prior to arrival, inside door to bathroom was disgustingly dirty and room service didn't deliver pre ordweee breakfast 2 days without having to call and then it arrived late. Overall the facilities were lovely, I appreciate the smaller hotels with more personal service. This experience wasn't the best I've had their before. I will try them again and hope it has improved.

Room was clean and spacious. Great neighborhood. Cobblestone streets. Several restaurants and bars, very happy with everything. Would stay again.

Friendly staff, fun old style hotel. Good food, although may be pricey for families. Small lobby. Lots of places to eat within walking distance. Since you are downtown, parking is a premium, but there are parking garages nearby. The hotel offers valet parking and luggage service. Love Richmond and did not have a difficult time finding our way around. Would go back again.

Only stayed one night after our flight was cancelled due to bad weather. However, the staff was very accommodating, keeping our bags for us after checkout so we could explore the historic sights nearby. The location was great, near restaurants and the Capitol. The only drawback was the trash truck came early in the morning to unload the dumpster - otherwise a peaceful, restful stay!

The hotel is beautiful and elegant with nice warm and inviting interior. The staff were professional and accommodating. The restaurant was very quiet with a good view of the cobblestone street and historic buildings.

We stayed here for 2 nights and loved the hotel and the location right on Cary Street. There were lots of great restaurants and lots to do within walking distance. Everyone that we encountered at the hotel was very nice and helpful. Southern charm was everywhere. We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed during race weekend. Close to the start/finish line, close to some great bars and tourist attractions. We have stayed here many times, and we love it!!

Historically beautiful hotel central to many landmarks! Excellent staff and service; room service was amazing!!! The room was super comfortable! Hope I get to visit again soon.

Comfortable. Room faced an ally, which was disappointing. Essentially clean and comfortable

The Berkeley is located in the heart of the Shockoe District...close to lots of great restaurants and attractions. The rooms are well-appointed and comfortable. WiFi access included. Happy hour in the bar offers reasonable drinks and snacks. You could skip the restaurant. Basically ordinary and overpriced. The Richmond Trolley Tour leaves from a block away and is a must do.

All my expectations were met, we truly enjoyed the our stay, the staff was friendly, helpful and never an attitude or negative comment! They treated any of my concerns like it was their own, making sure I was satisfied and happy with the end result. Great Hotel!!

The hotel staff was very friendly. They talked to us every time we got back to the hotel to see how our time exploring Richmond was. The valet was fantastic, and super helpful. The location is awesome. My boyfriend and I were able to walk around the area for a fun night out and be completely satisfied.

My girlfriend and I decided we wanted to stay downtown for a couple of days to celebrate her birthday. The Berkeley is incredibly charming and right downtown in the Shockhoe Slip. The staff attendants were very prompt and friendly. Our room was elegant, clean and spacious, not to mention the bedding was a dream. The only downsides I had were that I requested a room on a higher floor with a little bit of a view since my girlfriend is from out of town and I wanted her to see the city, but there was nothing available at the time. Also, one of the parking attendants constantly gave me strange, almost condescending looks every time he retrieved my car, which really bothered me. I still expect the same treatment and service in jeans and a t shirt that someone else in a dress and heels would receive. But overall, I truly enjoyed my stay and would book a room here again.

Loved our stay at the Berkeley. Across the street from Tobacco restaurant. Breakfast was good. Valet service was slow.

Nice spot. High value. Easy access to Richmond. Comfortable.
