Homewood Suites did a fantastic job of accommodating my large group and their subsequent requests during the MiLB Eastern League Fan Fest and All-Star Week when it came to Richmond in July of 2019. This was no small task as hundreds of people flooded their hotel with specific needs from ball players, coaches, executives and friends and families, most of whom were new to the area and had never been here before. Homewood's courteous and kind staff was pliable and very friendly to the large group of people and their ongoing needs throughout the week. And when we hit any bumps in the road, Homewood worked to right the situations and take care of every need we had. I would certainly recommend to others, and with its ideal and iconic location, it is a perfect place to stay while visiting Richmond with affordable and comfortable rooms to easy parking and friendly staff. I certainly recommend and would stay again and will have all my friends stay here when they visit Richmond. And hat off to Chandi who worked around the clock throughout the week and was very very communicative being certain our needs were met by even sharing her cell phone number so requests could be relayed to the right person. I am very grateful!
From the moment my family checked in, and throughout our entire stay, we were treated with the upmost kindness, consideration and genuine regard for our welfare by the general manager Christina and her entire staff. If I ever return to visit Richmond I would not stay anywhere else but this hotel.
Great hotel and I like the option of being able to use both Hampton Inn and Suites amenities as well as Homewood Suites being as though both hotels are connected. Homewood Suites outdoor pool was really small and I forgot to check Hampton Inn and Suites. It was nice to have the option of having complimentary breakfast at both Homewood Suites and Hampton Inn and Suites.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! We stopped here for one night on our way driving back from Myrtle Beach. Natalie and Alona were at the front desk and were very friendly and provided a quick check in. Street parking was available right outside of the hotel and was free as long as we moved the car before 7am. When we got up to our room, I realized that I booked the wrong room class - we wanted a bedroom with a door so that my husband and I could watch TV after we put our son to sleep. I walked back down to the lobby and explained my error and asked if I could change our room to one with a bedroom door. They quickly upgraded our room without charge to a room just a few doors down so that it was easy for us to relocate our things. The hotel itself is beautiful!. Really nice lobby, the elevators are top of the line and rooms are very spacious and updated. I didn't go to the rooftop but my husband said that the restaurant space was amazing as well. The free breakfast was delicious. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay again in the future.

Very comfortable stay and I received excellent service from hotel staff. Complimentary breakfast was convenient, delicious and balanced. Hotel room was comfortable. Service staff was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
The hotel has obviously upscaled some elements. New elevators, roof bar, etc. The pool is TINY. The room was decent but carpet in the hallways was completely stained. Parts of the room were new, parts were old. It just didn't seem clean. The location is fine- we ate a few times at the capital ale house across the street.
I stay at many hotels and this Homewood Suites has probably the best customer service across the board of any I've stayed at. Every single employee, from front desk to room service, to food service, was friendly and helpful in a genuine way. They went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. They went above and beyond consistently! The hotel itself was also excellent. Our king suite room was well laid-out, clean, attractive, comfortable and functional. A very relaxing space for us. I loved the high-tech elevators. Great location in central Richmond. We found it easy to walk to the State Capitol and even down to the James River waterfront walk and Tredegar. If I return to Richmond again, I would absolutely want to stay at the Homewood Suites!
My stay at Homewood was very good. The staff was very professional and respectful. The breakfast good and on time. I enjoyed every minute of the social, it was something different for me. I would reccommend this hotel to my friends.
I'm a regular here and normally I have been a grateful customer. There are some stand-outs here -- April Matthews, Miss Lynn and Vi, the all-around helper (front desk and driver, Felicia -- superstar quality) and Deondre and Jeffrine. But lots of staff turnover. New GM is setting some high standards, which is good. But they are now charging for water -- up to $4.00 per bottle. SAY WHAT? Room service sometimes forgets to do a room. And the new driver who fills in as a cook thinks she is a chef (not) and puts fruit in everything and has a way of putting down other workers. I'm loyal and will return and hope that things change for the better. Morale is shifting. The front door sticks, elevators need some touch-up, and high impact changes should be first impression priorities. Great location. Just a lot to pay attention to right now.
