I've been coming to Iowa Speedway for the last decade and have always stayed in Des Moines. I wanted a change of scenery this year, and I'm glad I chose this property. The staff is extra attentive, the location is great, the rooms are updated, and clean. The price is right. I'll be back.
I've stayed here several weeks now and the service is always been no less than great my room is cleaned daily and also I have co-workers here in other rooms Vicki which is the manager here is always very helpful and the rest of the staff is always eager to do something for you if you need anything at all they even cook cookies every night which is a plus to me and my crew we stayed here last month too and that's why we came back because of the service and how clean and friendly everyone here is I highly recommend it to anyone that is looking for a good clean room friendly service good food snacks in the evening and also great service
Had a pleasure trip planned to Pella, IA. The Super 8 was reasonably priced. Located close to the main downtown area and near food and a grocery store. The room was nice, clean and very adequate. Front desk gals were very helpful and I decided to book a stay for next years Tulip Fest.
My room wasn't ready when I checked in after 6 p.m. My toilet didn't work properly and the shower drained incredibly slow. Recliner was broken.
This motel was great unless you want to go out and drink in the center of Pella (with surprisingly good bars and quite a bit of charm). We did, but had to call it an early night since our choices in small-town Iowa didn't include Uber or Lyft and it would have been a very long, hot walk back. I'd pick a hotel closer to "downtown" Pella and pay a little more if I had to do it again. Rooms were nice and fixtures were modern. Staff was great!
We have stayed at this property several times in the past, but it apparently has changed hands a couple of times in the past year. We encountered reservation issues as well as housekeeping problems this visit. Because the mgt. apparently had problems staffing, our room wasn't cleaned up for a couple days during our stay, and we only learned of the problem when we asked why our beds hadn't been made up. There was no mention of compensation for the lack of service. Also, we had trouble with our room key-card a couple of times during the latter part of our stay, which involved having to return to the front desk each time to get the card reactivated. We never got the feeling that the mgt. was particularly concerned about these problems.
I travel a lot for work and it is just a great relief to feel at home ESPECIALLY at a hotel. The manager and the entire staff are not only professional but they engage and are super friendly and familiar with all that stay here and make you feel very welcomed. There is something beautiful about the peace there is here in Iowa and I believe it is mostly based on all these beautiful people. They deserve the uttermost respect because it is what they give with a great smile and hospitality. I can't wait to visit again and this hotel would definitely be my choice! :)
I had a great stay! Mandy and Vicky are great people to meet! They made me feel at home even when I'm on the road. Anything I needed they took care of it! Clean bed sheets very day and nice clean towels! Nice hot breakfast every morning and coffee. Place is nice and clean. The pricing is BEST IN TOWN!!!!
The only reason why I am giving this at least 2 stars is because he did a nice job updating the rooms from a previous stay. My check in process was mostly smooth even though the front desk person was out front chatting with someone as opposed to in the office. The rooms have been updated so they are nicer than they once were. The breakfast is basic, but it was as expected. That being said over my 3 night stay the only time the room was clean was when I checked in. The other 2 nights I stayed the room was not cleaned. There were several hours I was out of the room each day and the room was not serviced. The firs time I called the front desk and told the person who answered that the room was not cleaned could I get some towels? The person responded yes I will be there right away. After waiting 45 minutes I went to the front desk. No one was there. A few minutes later an employee walked in and I asked them for towels. They said that the new housekeeper had not cleaned some of the rooms. The second time I went directly to the front desk. There were 2 employees folding towels in the back. I commented to them my room had not been cleaned. They said they had not done them yet. They said we don't normally clean rooms we just work the front desk. I got clean towels and went back to my room. At no time did the staff offer to clean my room they just gave excuses as to why it was not done. I would avoid staying at this location if you want a clean room.
Really enjoyed staying here. Very clean rooms and very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely stay here when I'm back in area. Very pleasant little town, very accommodating and about the town. Nice place for a long term stay.
