This place used to be stellar, it'll need updating soon. The bed in our $200+ suite had no bedding, when I pulled the pillow from the closet it was urine stained. Ordered another pillow and more blankets (rooms are freezing and heat won't kick on) I waited a half hour then had to get back to the pool so asked that blankets be delivered after it closes. The bedding is less than spectacular. I contemplate purchasing some at Walmart. This is not what I expect for the price I paid, neither are the lacking amenities, no continental, small TVs, depressingly installed wallpaper that doesn't match up on patterns, lack of hot tub suites or a hot tub on site at all, no swimmers gear available at the gift shop and unfinished touch up paint work in the water park area. The platform at the water park is wobbly as well and I was scared an accident was imminent so did not return to the slides. The whole place could use an update, and the gift shop really could sell goggles or floatie balls. It would be nice if they'd charge maybe a dollar more and not double though. The room was like a small tunnel with mini pillows. Just kind of a bummer
Fun to finally stay here as I grew up in the area. Overall the rooms need some attention and refreshing. Checking in late we got a crazy surprise, 54 degree room. We let the front desk know and they kinda said oh well, so sorry. Actually the onsite restaurant was good and nice view of the lake.
room 334, bugs/ fleas throughout, I will have to empty my suitcase out side when I get home and transfer all to washer right away. Iron was busted, total of 4 hangers between two closets. first night of week went to restaurant after work, ordered a salad to go, the bar tender brought it out on a plate, I said that was to go, he stated "oh, I didn't know" which I clearly told him, then he just dumps and stuffs salad into small to go container. eggs on salad were old, yoke was brown. disgusting. The service was just sub-par. You can walk right in the front door and the staff doesn't acknowledge you, guess the are too busy reading their iphones. I went down to the little store they have at front desk to grab a munchie, as there is no snack vending machines, and I went to grab a candy bar, to find it was open, and as I called the front desk attendant over- I showed her every candy bar was open... Nothing to do in hotel, as there isn't even a pool or hot tub to relax in like other hotels, the water park is only open on weekends if its the season. I was here for business a few weeks, but if I have to come back I will stay at a different hotel, as this is not worth it.
The facility, water park, and area was very nice. We will definitely be going back with more family members. Most of our family would love a water park like this. The only draw back was the drive. It was 4 hours from our home.
Wonderful place to stay during a visit to Storm Lake. Nice spacious rooms, good food and service at the restaurant and bar plus lots of fun for the entire family at the water park and playground. Take a stroll along the lake and enjoy the beautiful wood sculptures. What's not to like?
The waterpark was fun, and my kids had a blast, however, when I was showering in our room after coming from the waterpark, the water went from nice and hot to ice cold in an instant and back to hot. Also when we were in the park, I took my daughter into the family restroom to change her and wait for my other child to come in. I locked the door, however, my son was still able to open it from the outside, even though it was locked. I had to have my husband stand guard while I showered my kids so someone wouldn't come and yank the door open. When I went to turn in my key, the people in front of me were complaining about not having any hot water in their room and that they would like to be moved, and the front desk person seemed to act like this was a normal occurrence in the hotel (that people complain) and didn't show any sympathy to their situation. I did enjoy my room view, I sat on the balcony and had a great view of the lake.
Hotel is very nice and clean. The waterpark is very fun-like that it was indoor/outdoor. We ate at the hotel restaraunt which was actually very good. The only complain that I have is about the lake. I took my kids and dogs to the beach. The dogs went in and my girls put their feet in. Then I am informed by a lady that their is Ecoli in the water and their is a tiny sign posted on the opposite side of the beach. Luckily no one got sick---however I think the hotel needs to mention this!!!!!
My kids (2&4) loved the waterpark!! Great service too. My only complaint would be the mattresses are in need of changing out. The two in our room were worn in spots so one side of the bed slumped down. But we will be back for sure!
Kings Pointe Waterpark is a beautiful resort with a large waterpark and plenty to do! It was actually quiet and relaxing as well! We had a great view overlooking the lake. I would definitely go again!
Rooms are huge and location is spectacular! Restaurant is also great and facilities are clean. Would definitely stay again. We enjoyed our stay so much we didn't want to leave. Such a lovely community this hotel is in.
