Beds were a little hard, waterpark was closed for upkeep so cost was somewhat high for not being able to use pool or anything, furnishings were very nice in the hotel and in the room and all areas were very clean
The room was nice. Nothing fancy and had it not been for the water park I wouldn’t have spent the extra money for it. Unfortunately, they had the indoor water park closed during our stay for yearly maintenance (should have been mentioned when making reservations, but it wasn’t) so it wasn’t worth the extra money anyway. I would stay again for the same price but would make sure the park was open first.
Bed was very uncomfortable. Pillows were hard and cheap and bedding was very thin. 2nd nights stay towels weren't left so we had to get some from the front desk. The room was clean and the staff were friendly.
Our family gathered here while we attended a family funeral. You were so kind and accommodating and we appreciated it so much. The rooms and service were great! The restaurant had great food and provided another place for us to gather. Thank you.
We stayed for a weekend visit with our child attending college in town. We spent several hours at the indoor water park with our kids (12, 17, 18). It was very nice, clean and relaxing. Our room was large, spacious, clean and modern. My only complaint is that our shower curtain was hung a little too far into the shower for my liking ( I don't like the curtain to touch me when I shower). So my complaint isn't really a negative thing, just a personal pet peeve of mine!! Loved that the shower head had different settings and they actually worked well!
We stay at this property yearly, & this year was by far the worst experience We had. For a 2 night stay, $382 is ridiculous. When paying a higher rate like that, I expect a higher level of customer service, from every staff member we encounter during our stay. When I asked at check-in what the total of my stay would be the desk agent told me I had to call the third party & ask them, but yet King's Pointe was the one who was taking my money, didn't make a lot of sense to me. The room was okay, limited seating, AC/Heat was off, so the room was stuffy. My child put items from cooler into the fridge, I went to get them couple hours later, only to find them hot -because the fridge was off. At that point I was really upset with the hotel. For the price I paid, they can afford to keep a mini fridge on, our food and drinks were ruined. In our room the wall paper was peeling back in multiple places & the comforters had stains on them. In the bathroom area there were brown stains on the wall paper, not sure what it was. Breakfast is additional, and both children & adults are the same price for the buffet. We were pleasantly greeted by the hostess on Sunday morning, but it took 10 minutes for the wait staff to acknowledge us, let alone get a drink order. The staff was slow & unresponsive to our needs. We had the opportunity to enjoy the water park, which looked really good, the staff there was pleasant, but I did have to buy 2 more passes to accommodate my family, of 6.
We had an overnight stay where we arrived late at night and left the next day, mid-day for events on the BVU campus. King's Pointe was accommodating in giving us a late check out so we could go to the waterpark. This place is quite expensive which is why I did not give it 5 "stars". We looked at other nearby hotels with the intent of getting separate bands for the waterpark but the other hotels were all booked up.
We stayed at King's Pointe to attend a wedding in Linn Grove. The hotel was recommended by the groom. The staff was VERY courteous and the breakfast was good and reasonably priced. Bedside electrical connections for computers, etc. were good. The bathroom was TIRED including wallpaper coming lose in a couple of areas in the shower. The TV should be on swivels so that it can be easily viewed from either bed.
Storm Lake is my home town. King's Pointe is a great option for lodging when visiting family & friends. Unfortunately, this time we found the place in need of significant need of being refurbished and refreshed! New carpet, paint and furnishings would go a long ways. Also we found our room to have a strong odor that I would liken to mold & mildew. The shower desperately needed scrubbed and the hardware in the bathroom was falling off the wall.
Am a native and had asked friends for restaurant recommendations. They said Kings Point restaurant was not consistent with the food. We found the same thing. My wife said the ribeye was good, sweet potato fries were good. I had the ribs and they were not good at all, gristle, tough and not much meat to be had. Both salads had very little lettuce and was mostly crouton's, bla. My second drink was totally un drinkable and returned to the bar. Apologies were offered. For the money spent, not good at all. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean and nicely furnished, the view was great. Didn't need or want swim vouchers but had to pay for them anyway. Was approximately a 350.00 weekend that was OK. Would still stay there but would never eat there again. Oh yes, breakfast was basic (ordered and not the buffet) but good.
