Stay away!! We stayed in the first floor and the room smelled of mold. Some mold was painted over and other mold was visually seen around the bathroom door and throughout the room. We stayed July 7th. Not even worth rating a 1/2 star but app won't let you post with a rating.
This Comfort Inn needs some updating generally speaking. The price I paid was about market value in comparable hotel -and etc. One good thing about this Comfort Inn, I did not smell cigarette smoke, which is a plus for me.
Arrived to be told that they did not have reservation. I showed clerk the confirmation #. He said they had a room but did not want to honor the price from reservation. HE SAID IT WAS NOT HIS FAULT THEY DID NOT HAVE RESERVATION. I TOLD HIM IT WAS NOT MY FAULT. HE WAS ANGRY BUT FINALLY AGREED TO PRICE. I had requested a room close to exit because of my husband emphysEmma he had us drive to back of hotel and enter but room was the entire length of the hotel away from door. We will not go back.
I booked this hotel last minute due to a death in my family. I needed a room that would sleep 5 people and this Comfort Inn was the only one that was left (likely due to Memphis in may). I double checked my reservation for occupancy making sure to note "Max occupancy: 5 w/ rollaway bed" The check in went okay. When I was given one key to the room, i asked the man at the front desk for 2 more and he sighed heavily, said "two more keys or two altogether" I replied "two more please, if you would" As if making more keys was inconveniencing him When I approached the entrance to my room it looked like the door was partially open, I pushed on it, and it didnt move. When i used my key to open the door, i noticed that it was not snug against the door jamb. The room itself wasn't the worst nor the best, i'd describe it as out dated and in need of a carpet cleaning and deodorizing. That evening when I went down to the lobby to inquire about an extra bed, the woman working there advised me that the hotel didnt own any roll away beds. I told her that their website says i can sleep 5 people in my room and she shrugged. My teenager slept on a pile of blankets (that i had in my truck) on the floor that night. The next night, I went back to the front desk for a second opinion and was told the hotel does have extra beds, but they were currently being used by other guests. I asked the man at the desk if i could have more pillows and blankets for floor comfort, to which he responded "No, because we dont have anything extra" He and i just stared blankly at each other for about 30 seconds, and I took it upon myself to go purchase an air mattress for my kid to sleep on. The service here was mediocre at best. I have stayed at many hotels, and I usually avoid Choice hotels as they seem to frequently come packaged with these types of problems. They do have a complimentary breakfast which includes, a waffle maker, some eggs and a breakfast protein. There is also an assortment of breads, oatmeal, and coffee. I am deeply disappointed in my stay at this hotel, we stayed down the street at the comfort suites back in May for our family reunion and the service and rooms were much better. I was offered nothing for my inconvenience, a simple apology from management would have helped this situation. I would like to be contacted by a member of management.
We had to go to Olive Branch and choose this hotel for its convenient location. That was about all it had going for it, except that most of the staff was nice. Like someone else said, the outside was messy. I sat outside once and picked up trash and beer bottles. The first night in the room, we heard a high-pitched sound. The front desk manager came up and we discovered that the noise was coming from the fridge. We had stuff in it, so we needed to use it. He did offer for us to change our room, but we were all settled. He refused to switch out the fridge with another one. He said "I'm not lifting that!" Ok- so we thought they would at least take care of it the next day--NO! It was like that for the 4 nights we stayed there. The room was okay but could use updating. They gave you the SKIMPIEST pad of paper, which we used up in no time! The bathroom was quite small and the door to it could not be kept open. When you turned on the light there, the 'fan' sounded like a jet engine--way too loud! The first morning, we went to use the hairdryer and it wouldn't work. It was attached to the wall. They brought us another, but in the 4 days we stayed there, they never took off the broken one and replaced it. The breakfast was the same every day--waffles, the same style cooked egg,bacon/sausage, yogurt (which looked like it had not been kept cold), biscuits and gravy, instant oatmeal, pastries, juice, cold cereal. Even though it was over 80 degrees out, the pool was not open. In the business center, the printer wasn't working. I'd look somewhere else.
I was only here one night on business, but I checked in early. The first room I was given smelled of cigarette smoke, I was told it was just cleaned, but their idea of cleaning was turning the air conditioner on high (to cover the smell and using something very slippery on the bathroom floor....I nearly killed myself when I walked in to check things out. I was then moved to another room, where the telephone did not work (I wanted a wake-up call) and there was no ironing board in the room. I then proceeded the business center where I was told the printer was out of order. I specifically book with choice hotels because they typically have business centers. Needless to say I was very disappointed and will not be staying here next month when I come back again for business.
Originally planned to stay at the Hampton Inn. But they were under construction. So went the Comfort suites. After waiting at the desk to check-in for a very long time... and ringing the bell.... we went to the Comfort Inn. They gave us a room where the tv was so horrible that we called to ask if this was right. The receptionist came down, did what we did and, rather then give us another room, opened the attached room to us and said we could go into that room to watch tv and back to our room when we are ready for bed????? Ok???? Next day, we checked to make sure we didn't get charged for two rooms. Complimentary breakfast. Eggs, cold and runny, bacon cold. So, ok, yogurt. I opened the top and it was like soup. And this was after stirring. Only thing I figure is that the yoghurt sat on a shelf till ready to serve and then put on ice before serving.
Lots of beer bottles laying around outside and in the pool area. Outlets for microwave and fridge not working. No coffee at 530am...was told to come back in half hour. Saw two BIG spiders in the hallway...one went under guests door (yikes). For the money, you can find better choices in the area for the same price or less.
We stayed one night on our drive to Florida. As a one nighter, it was fine and was inexpensive. However, there were some issues. There was no luggage rack to put the suitcase on, so we had to put it on the desk, which meant we couldn't t use the desk as a desk/table. There was a only a small window in the room, so even in broad daylight the room was very dark. The heater unit worked well but the front cover of it kept falling off. The carpet, while clean, was showing signs of wear and could stand to be replaced. There was a coffee maker in the room but when I went to make coffee there were no cups to drink it. Breakfast was included, and there was a hot breakfast, but the eggs were rubbery and tasteless, although the sausage was good. There were also biscuits and gravy but the biscuits were hard as a rock and the gravy wasn't very warm. Also, when we wanted to print out confirmations for our Florida stay, but the printer in the "business center' was broken. On the bright side, the people were all very nice and helpful, the room was clean, and the bed was comfy, which is why I rated it as high as I did.
Clean.......but other issues with are room. they was working on the room and left tools that feel on my foot and I was treated like it was my falt.. Called several times and left messages for GM....he has not call back.
