Homewood Suites by Hilton Santa Fe-North

Great Stay

I think this is the best hotel I've stayed in. The staff was polite and super accommodating all around. Our 2 bedroom suite was nicely decorated. The water was soft and the bathroom modern. The beds were very comfortable. The view of the hills was nice from Casita Wije. We cooked every day without a problem. There was a full size refrigerator, two stove burners, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker - everything we needed. Coffee was also available around the clock in the lobby. The free breakfast was good - eggs, meat, oats, cereal, fruit, sweets, waffles, and lots of adds. They also have complimentary dinner some nights which was good, but we were eating a lot of left overs.:) The hotel is a way from Santa Fe, but the short drive to the city is pleasant, and the hotel amenities make it worthwhile. Santa Fe is beautiful with sculptures, art, and many museums to visit like the Georgia O'Keefe Museum, Museum of History (huge), and the Museum of Art. The 60 mile drives from the hotel to Taos and Albuquerque along the Rio Grande were fun. We had a good time at Ski Santa Fe. I was happy I chose Homewood Suites and north New Mexico.

The Abiquiu Inn

Nice, clean room. No signs of wear.

Good overall experience. Attached restaurant was a huge plus because of the relatively remote location.

Casa Escondida Bed & Breakfast

Little high desert treasure of a B&B

The breakfast is home-cooked... blueberry pancakes, fresh fruit, sausage, coffee, orange juice... the bed and breakfast is a quaint adobe style ranch house with unique rooms and private restrooms. There's even a room with a huge balcony, and a room with a tiny kitchen and dining area. It isn't far from town and eating places, but it has a forest feel to it with all the trees and pretty views. There are chilis hanging off the porch in classic NM style, and the owner and staff were so accommodating (even though we set off their fire alarm with the in-room fireplace). Can't wait to come back again. Certainly a Santa Fe area must stay!
