The Abiquiu Inn

Nice, clean room. No signs of wear.

Good overall experience. Attached restaurant was a huge plus because of the relatively remote location.

Hilton Santa Fe Buffalo Thunder

Exceptional service, great location

This Hilton resort and casino is classy and maintains high standards in every aspect. The authentic art exposed in the lobby and in the hallways is amazing! For dinner I recommend the buffet served daily from 4pm to 8pm. Maybe the management should extend the schedule to 9pm.... I am not a gambler but I was impressed with the casino. It is not like a super large, Vegas style casino, yet it is attractive and cosy meanwhile! The location of this resort is just 3 miles south of Epaniola and only 95 miles away from Red River Ski resort. Technically, you can drive to Red River or Taos, spend the day there skiing and return to Buffalo Thunder for the night. This will save you hundreds of $ per day, given the hotel rates in Red River during the ski season. I will return to this resort in the summer for their large pools! Great food served at the Painted Parrot buffet!

Casa Escondida Bed & Breakfast

Little high desert treasure of a B&B

The breakfast is home-cooked... blueberry pancakes, fresh fruit, sausage, coffee, orange juice... the bed and breakfast is a quaint adobe style ranch house with unique rooms and private restrooms. There's even a room with a huge balcony, and a room with a tiny kitchen and dining area. It isn't far from town and eating places, but it has a forest feel to it with all the trees and pretty views. There are chilis hanging off the porch in classic NM style, and the owner and staff were so accommodating (even though we set off their fire alarm with the in-room fireplace). Can't wait to come back again. Certainly a Santa Fe area must stay!
