"This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at a Marriott property. I specifically booked and paid extra for a high-floor room to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. When I arrived, my room was not ready, which I understood, so I left and returned later. When I finally received my room, the key cards did not work. I was originally assigned a high-floor room with a beautiful view, but staff stated they could not access any rooms on that floor and moved me to a much smaller room that I did not want. No effort was made to properly accommodate me or acknowledge that I paid extra for the high floor, which led me to contact Expedia for help. During my stay on the 27th floor, the elevators repeatedly did not work. Many times, we had to walk down several floors just to catch one, and there were instances where none of the elevators worked in the lobby, causing long waits. There was also a water leak in the lobby, during which an announcement was made stating the entire building needed to evacuate due to a fire. This caused panic in a 50+ floor building, with guests crowding stairwells in 11-degree weather. It later became clear there was no fire. Poor communication created unnecessary fear and chaos. When I raised concerns, staff claimed it was the first time hearing about the elevator issues, despite multiple guest complaints. Overall, this stay was extremely disappointing, and I would never stay at the Sheraton Times Square again. "
