We stayed at this hotel for a week in April 2017. The location is good, we walked just about everywhere. The room itself was good, the bed was very comfy. The room and the hotel were very clean. The hotel provided transportation to the airport for us when we left, which was great. The driver was really friendly. Then for the negatives - the area where breakfast was served got very crowded. And even though we arrived for breakfast fairly early, some mornings many things had run out before we got there. Another negative was that on a couple of occasions housekeeping personnel would talk on the phone VERY loudly right outside our room for what seemed like an eternity. This was not a big deal, just kind of annoying when you are trying to rest after a long day of sightseeing. All in all definitely good value for the price.
Good location but the rooms are extremely small. Good enough for 2 adults and 2 young kids but that s about it. Rooms have a small fridge and a microwave. Breakfast is OK but served in a small space which gets very crowded. Staff is extremely helpful.
I went with a group of students to study at the New York Film Academy. Rooms were very clean and spacious with comfortable beds and pillows. Elevators worked well but sometimes took some time to get to our floor as there were lots of guests. Breakfast buffet is just fine with assorted dishes, coffee, tea, cereals, yoghurt, juices and cold cuts. Midtown location was great for shopping and we were 5 blocks away from the subway. Restaurants nearby were varied. You can store luggage while waiting for check in in a small luggage room and staff was very helpful and courteous. A great choice for your stay in the big apple.
No hotel is perfect and I certainly was not expecting perfection from the Springhill Suites in Manhattan. Let's start with the POSITIVES: - My daughter and I arrived at the hotel around noon, and since I had used mobile check-in, our room was already ready. - The location is good - the property is nestled between two other Marriott properties on West 37th street. Close enough to the "action," but far enough to avoid the sounds of traffic and emergency vehicle sirens. - The wi-fi in the room worked well. Now, the not-so-positives: - Calling their rooms "suites" is disingenuous. - The floor-plan of the "suite" is at best dysfunctional. - There is no closet to speak of. - The location of the bathroom with a sliding opaque glass door is downright stupid. It is fine for a single traveller but certainly not for two guests. - The items left in the mini-fridge by the previous guests were still there when we checked in. - Even though I am an Elite Gold member, no upgrade was extended. I was told at check-in that I could use the "enhanced" wi-fi but when I tried to log on, I was asked for a code that was not provided to me. I was told only to enter my room number and last name, which did not work for the enhanced wi-fi. Finally, the downright NEGATIVES: - The air-conditioning in the first "suite" that was assigned to us was not working; engineering tried FOUR times to fix it without success. This kept us up most of the night. We were assigned a second "suite" on the third night since the hotel was "fully booked" the second night. The hotel refunded us the charge for that night. - The Marriott website for this property includes description under the heading "Kitchen Features." Be forewarned - there is NO kitchen; not even a kitchenette.
Exceptionally clean with modern rooms, this Marriott Springhill Suites is a great choice if you are staying in the city. The rooms are New York City standard size, which is small. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are up-to-date with plugs everywhere charge your devices. The bathroom and closet are quite small but not unexpected for NYC and there's a safe in the room. Helpful hint: I happen to received a handicap accessible room when I checked in and it seems to have extra space if you're looking for a little bit larger room.
The room was clean and big enough for both of us. Our unit was wheelchair accessible. Hotel wasn't as near to the subway as we would like. It was about 20 mins walk. There were plenty of food and shopping around. Breakfast was a bore as the menu remained unchanged during our 4 nights stay. Front desk Trevor was very helpful and friendly.
Not a luxury hotel but not a run down one. Great location if you plan to take a subway, not far from Penn station., time square and 5th avenue. Free breakfast mostly o.j., Apple juice hot tea coffee, muffins toasts and scrambled eggs. If you wake up early, you will find some fruits. Elevators are used by workers and guests.. 2 times in my stay I had to wait a bit longer than usual, otherwise everything is normal
We had a great stay in NYC with this hotel as a perfect base for a family of five. The location is excellent, the staff was helpful, the room was clean and the beds comfortable. Will definitely consider to stay again if back in NYC.
This hotel is about a 5-10 min walk off of the TS strip. A little quieter but still in the heart of it all. Upon arrival, Sonny was very accommodating and even tried to get us 2 bed room, but my family had already "used" the room. Thanks for trying Sonny! It appears to have been renovated or updated recently. Contemporary feel in the lobby and room size is comparable to other NYC high rise hotels. Housekeeping responded VERY quickly when asked for more towels. I'd say less than 5 mins!! The night before in another hotel it took over an hour! Typical complementary breakfast of eggs, sausage, and other continental items. Walking distance to some off beat places to eat and had 2 spaces outside to people watch... one smoking and another for nonsmoking. Beds were comfortable and would stay here again. Thanks!
Had booked 2 rooms for myself and 3 friends to go to a show, museum, and restaurants. Stayed only one overnight, but were hoping to make the most of the 2 days. I arrived early with one friend at about 10:15 on Saturday, and was informed that I wouldn't be able to check in to a room with 2 queen beds, as the rooms were all occupied. This didn't surprise me. We asked to use a bathroom to change out of travel clothes, and planned to give our bags to the bellman, and get started with our day. While we were in the ladies room, the woman from the front desk, Isaura, came in and told us to come see her before we left. She offered us 2 rooms each with 1 king bed for the same price as the room we had reserved, and she said we could check in immediately. This was so convenient! When my other 2 friends arrived, they were able to put their things in our rooms and use our bathrooms before we all went out for the day. When we returned from our broadway show, the second room was ready for my friends. Having 3 bathrooms made getting ready easy for everyone. All of the rooms were a good size compared to other places I've stayed in Manhattan, and having a refrigerator is something that I always like! Also, the rooms and bathrooms were clean. Isaura went above and beyond by coming to find us and offering us a convenient solution, which allowed us to check in early. Thanks!
