Close to LIRR Jamaica Station; E and J subways. The numerous bus stops make the area a bus hub. The Shop Fair on Sutphin Blvd just south of the station offers food and refreshments fir sale. A complaint is the lack of a refrigerator.

Had to stay here for a night while waiting for a flight as the property suggests smoke-free the hallways were filled with marijuana smoke and a strong presence of illegal prostitution in and out the building the room was clean neighborhood is sketchy as all get out the gentleman that checked us in was pretty nice I do not suggest buying anything from the lobby cuz it's overpriced furthermore this isn't necessary link to the establishment but my wife and I ordered doordash and our order was stolen four different times from doordashers it was quite the overnight stay

I stayed at the Red Roof Plus Hotel in New York for 2 nights and had a great experience. The staff was very nice and welcoming, which made the stay even better. My room was clean, comfortable, and well-kept. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting New York.

The area of the property is horrible I had to leave the same day I checked in. There was people smoking and just hanging on the corner. Not to mention the condition of the elevator, the room and the floor it was very dirty. Not tourist friendly unless you are ok with people smoking weed and hanging around. I was very disappointed because on the pictures it was so nice. And this is the second bad encounter I’ve had with red roof.

Needed an inexpensive place to stay to see a concert with my daughter at UBS arena. Jamaica LIRR was about a 10 min walk and very easy to get to. There is no on-site parking but there is a parking lot that is a 4 min walk away (use SpotHero). The location of the hotel may shock some guests who've never stayed in a working class neighborhood. It reminded me of the neighborhood that I grew up in so I wasn't as shocked as some other reviewers. There are restaurants along the Sutphin Blvd that are walkable (use Yelp), though we opted for a bunch spot that was 15 mins away by car. As for the room, it was small but it was just me and my daughter and we just needed a place to change, shower and sleep. Nothing fancy. All boxes checked. However, it was a bit loud. We could hear the cars outside zooming by and could hear the other people in their rooms. It wasn't enough to wake up my daughter but know that sound travels. It's a basic 2-star hotel that checked the boxes and fit my budget. That said, if I'm in the area again I may spring the extra money and stay at the Holiday Inn Express that was closely
