Christmas Getaway

Neat historic home with lots of charm. The house is several hundred years old, modernized with additions, but the feel of the place is very historic. The owners were great and responsive. Lots of privacy and very quiet, not a lot around, but anything you need is within a short drive. It was what we were looking for.

Historic House Vacation

Wonderful older home with plenty of room for a family summer vacation. Great property for hiking and outdoor fun. Firepit was great as was the air conditioning for the steamy days.

Missed my stay

Just wanted to say a few words about the customer service I received. I rented this for my sons wedding because I needed a large place with privacy and close to Concord. Due to a lot of stress I put in the wrong dates months prior and didn't realize until 2 days before I thought I was supposed to arrive. I rented it for the week before I needed it and found out when I got an email asking me to rate my stay before I arrived and I thought it strange. Until I discovered my mistake, totally my fault. Fortunately the company, Evolve, contacted me and offered another rental if the dates were open but I had no desire for that as I live very close and would not need it so I asked If I could get the cleaning fee refunded because it wouldn't need to be done and they agreed. They didn't have to do this but did and it's greatly appreciated so I wanted this known.

Nice Spot

An old house with lots of character. Very spacious, had everything we needed. The pictures of the bedrooms weren’t accurate to the overall beds at the house, and the property manager didn’t answer messages in a timely manner when we were having an issue with the heat. The property owner however was super nice and very helpful, and made sure to help with anything we needed. Would stay again

Great stay near Mt. Sunapee

We very much enjoyed our stay at The On Point House. This is a very old home but has lots of space for large families/friends. The home was clean and the beds are comfy. The kids enjoyed sleeping in the loft area with the twins bed. The kitchen is large with enough seating for our two families. Having a washer and dryer was great as well. On Point is less than 15 minutes from Mt. Sunapee which was great as we skied both days during our stay. The owners are responsive and kind. Check-in and check-out was very easy. Thank you for a great weekend.

Wonderful ski weekend with friends!

We stayed in this beautiful home with one other family (4 adults and 5 kids all together) for a wonderful ski weekend! We skiied at Crotched Mountain (35min drive) on Saturday and Sunapee Mountain (15 min drive) on Sunday, and we really enjoyed having this beautiful home as our base for the weekend. There were comfortable sleeping arrangements for all parties, with a big room with 5 twin beds for the younger kids, and a big open kitchen with a large dining table that everyone could gather around for meals and games. The house was warm and cozy and great for our families. We saw prior reviews with concerns about cleanliness and insects - it is a very old home, so we could find the occasional cobweb in corners if we went looking, but we never felt that the home was unclean or uncomfortable, and never had any concern about insects. The kids enjoyed playing in the large snowy yard after the first day of skiing. We had a little trouble locating the wifi information upon arrival and a little confusion about who to contact since there's a property management company and also an owner/representative with contact info listed, but while we were awaiting a callback the owners arrived at the house in response to our request for help and we were sorted out in no-time, wifi worked great. We had no other issues, great weekend, and we communicated easily with the owners at check-out. Would love to stay there again, and would recommend to families as a great rental! Perfect for skiing, and presumably great in the warmer months too!

Great Girls Weekend

This beautiful old farmhouse was perfect for our girls weekend. THE GOOD: The house was big and plenty of room for our group. Loved the character and the old farmhouse charm. The beds were comfortable. The full baths upstairs were newer. Management was responsive when we asked questions. Any mention of hornets and ladybug infestations in old reviews were not an issue for us. Great location. Beautiful landscape outside. Enjoyed a fire in the pit at night. THE BAD: Some door locks were not functioning at all - completely pulled out. We were a small group of women and didn’t like that we couldn’t lock the doors. THE MEH: It’s a little dated in areas and It could have used a slightly better cleaning. None of the doors closed properly. Otherwise, we were happy and suited our needs. We would definitely stay again (if they fix the locks).

Hornets and Lady Bugs

We had 10 people stay at the house...My family including in-laws. The Pros: The house is big and the heat works The Cons: There are Hornets and Lady Bugs all over the house. It is infested. We had to shake out our luggage when we returned home. Also, there is no place to put your trash. You have to leave the trash bags inside which is disgusting if you are there for 4 nights. The place has not been cleaned ina long time. The rugs all shed and there are cobwebs and nests everywhere. The bottom line is a few family members left early and the place is a disaster. We spoke to woman who runs it and here response was "what do you expect" after I told her I thought I felt like we were ripped off....Then she said "well I just booked a place in Sugarloaf." I did not respond to that. I have pictures of all the bugs and hornets. Stay away from this place.

1791 Family friendly house

The large room with 7 twin beds was the hit of our stay. The property could be improved with addition of more window screens, especially in hot weather. EG - no windows or doors in large kitchen had screens so we couldn't open as summer in NH is buggy.

Great place for large numbers

Rugged old farm house that honestly sleeps 14. My family had a big 80th birthday for my Mother and everyone in my extended family could stay here and we had a great time singing around the fire at night. The quarters are basic, and a bit "dorm style" But to sleep this many, I can't imagine doing it any other way. The owners where great and it all worked well for us.

Family accommodation for our son’s wedding weekend..

This lovely old gem was perfect for my wife and I along with six other family members traveling from Oregon and Massachusetts. Spent many off hours around the large kitchen table after breakfast or during down times in the afternoon. Convenient to wedding venue at The Fells and to visiting in-laws staying at our cottage on Lake Todd.

Nice property but the homeowner could have been a little more hospitable.

The house was spacious and cozy. It was also warm, which I was a little concerned about prior to arriving given that the home was built in the 1800's. I also liked the nice touch of having books and kids games throughout the home. My only critiques were that there were three hornets in the upstairs bedrooms that we had to kill (something I wouldn't expect in early March in NH), which is obviously something we weren't thrilled about with young kids sleeping in the rooms. Another critique was that there was only one bathroom with soap to wash our hands, so shortly after arriving we made a trip to the local grocery to purchase some. Lastly, we were a little surprised to find that there were only two and a ~half rolls of single-ply toilet paper in the house. I guess that we expected a little more given that the house was being rented to 12 people for a weekend. This wasn't a big deal but when when we called the homeowner to ask if there was more somewhere in the house, her immediate response was that this was normal and to go to the store. A warmer response and/or some notice prior to check-in would have been nice. I understand the desire to save some $$$ as a landlord but when charging $1k to rent a house for two nights, the few bucks you'd spend providing guests with some handsoap and toilet paper would go a long way in improving guest experience. Anyways, it was overall a good experience. I'd rent the home again, but for the price, I'd also see if other options were available prior to re-booking.
