I loved the place, however, they lied about the hot tub. We read the reviews where people said that the hot tub was not working so we called the property and they lied to us saying that everything is working (including hot tub) but we arrived the next day hot tub was shut down. Anyways, besides that the rest was very good, breakfast delicious, rooms nice (outdated but nice), staff friendly and helpful. Loved it here.

Our room was not cleaned. Vanity area was dirty and so wasn’t the shower curtain. Told the staff and was going to tell Manger. We went out for the day and when we came home at 7:30 PM, the room was still not cleaned… had to have a very nice guy at the front desk come and give us pillows, towel towels, and new shower curtains . He also cleaned the vanity for us.

Weird hotel. So dated 90s? Even the toiletries were not there. No proper towels. Seems half star roadside inn . Beds were comfortable though

The front desk staff was absolutely wonderful, very helpful and attentive.. But.....when we walked to our room at this former "resort" we were shocked at how deeply it had fallen into disrepair... the buildings were overly worn and run down. Then we entered the room and honestly were afraid to put anything down. All i can say is DIRTY. Just plain dirty.. It was not cheap and they were checking people and families in one after another.. We left and found a nicer place

We came to stay at FoxRiver Resort from Newport, RI. The pictures displaying the facility on the internet are ment to give a more pumped look than what you will actually find. Overall cleanliness of the property is pretty low Found signs of not changed bed sheets in the room (like hair or crumbles) Breakfast.. far from decent So just throw another hundred in the budget and take care of yourself

Really disappointing. Stayed here 6 years ago and was outdated but clean, staff good, activities etc. This time dirty everything inside and out, wasps nests by the pool, breakfast was so bad. Overall very poor unfortunately.

Unsafe slate stepping path to room. No close parking for handicapped. Faucets were EXTREMELY difficult to pull out for water if one has arthritis. One small travel bar of soap for 2 people Good point was their buffet breakfast..

The room smelled musty when we walked in. The outside pool is crumbling all around it and pieces are in the pool that are sharp concrete. The hairdryer on the wall was broken and the tv remote was broken. They did have them replaced the same day. If you are looking to stay in a 70’s run down hotel, then this is the place. The breakfast did look good.

The room was reasonably clean and beds were good. But the facilities overall are in DESPERATE need for repairs/updates. Both pools were filthy, crumbling cement with bad furniture surrounding it. The hot tub was broken. The overall smell is a sign of the rugs and furnishings needing to be replaced. It looks like it could be a great hotel if they spent the money on it. Don’t make the mistake of paying over priced amounts for crumbling buildings like us!

Will stay again

We enjoyed our four day stay to the Fox Ridge resort, though it does appear this resort has started to become more rundown compared to the years prior that we have visited. The customer service was excellent, there was always a smile when we were greeted, and a thorough explanation upon our check-in of all the amenities available. We would definitely stay here again, though I hope they consider replacing the carpet to an easier to clean flooring in the future! That would certainly help improve the overall feel.
