Comfortable place to stay nice location
Great location. We had a room in the barn. The room was clean. The bed was just ok in comfort level. The bathroom was nice and had hot water. The facility itself had multiple fireplaces that would have been nice if they lit them. The game room and dining area were very cold.
The rooms are very poorly organized, not microwave how the pictures show, not even a table to put your stuff, not kettle like the pictures show, no one pick the garbage, they not even ask you if you want get your room cleaned, is not worth it for the money I had to check out a day before because I cannot sleep in that place lne. More night.
Had a great time at Merrill. The room was an excellent price, and the included breakfast was great. The staff were extremely helpful.
Beautiful grounds, and atmosphere. Helpful host. Nice location.
Very historical place. We stayed in the main house which goes back to the 18 hundreds. Warning first floor in the main house has steep stairs and no elevator which can be a killer if you have bad knees. The window in the bathroom had a very sheer curtain. We had to put a towel on window but the rest of the windows in room did have a thicker curtain.
On the plus side, the hotel was quiet and the staff were friendly, but the room wasn't great. Bathroom was tiny, and there was no room to walk alongside the beds. No closet, although there was a hanging bar on the wall but no hangers. Windows had thin curtains but no shades. Bedding was stained, although the room was clean otherwise. Property wasn't handicap friendly, with stairs to the main lobby and room interior too small for a walker. We didn't use the amenities so cannot speak to that.
Great view of the river. Very close to everything in town. Will go again
Due to not planning ahead and limited last minute Columbus Day availability, ended up at the Merrill Farm Inn paying a premium rate. Looked great from the exterior, but the interior was very worn and in need of updating. Beware—if you have difficulty with stairs, this is NOT where you should stay. Large, sparsely decorated bedroom with small window and stained carpet. Tiny bathroom with toilet and tub—small vanity sink was outside the door. Tissue felt like sandpaper and we ran out of hot water. Could hear footsteps from the room above us. Muffins at the complimentary continental breakfast were good, but if you want anything hot, there is an extra charge. Better than sleeping in the car, but next time I'll do my homework and make reservations elsewhere.
