This place is majestic. Very family friendly and also would suite a couple on a quiet weekend

I spent the sekend nordic skiing onthe well groomed trails of the property. I had a great time.

This property is FILLED with history!!!! It is absolutely gorgeous!!!! I stayed for 4 days for a work conference and fell in love, will definitely be back!! Only bummer was there is no outdoor hot tub, the outdoor pool stays open year round though. Bring tee shirts, its an old historical property that does not allow a/c in the main parts.

Probably one of the worst experiences checking in we have had. Room was not in the main hotel. After checking it out I asked for a closer room but staff was no help. Also I had to park in the pouring rain completely on the other side of the property with no offer of help. In fact the front attendant acted as though it would be a bother to help with our bags so I just did it myself. Went to the room defeated and trapped. If we had left we would have been billed for the room not to mention it’s very isolated and there is nowhere else to go. Apparently there was a large group at the hotel so we were left to fend for ourselves and basically second class guests. Not happy at all. I will be contacting Orbitz upon our return and disputing the charge.

The views were outstanding, and the building and grounds were steeped in history and tradition. It was lovely. My only observations is that on-presence meal options were very limited and there are not many dining options offsite. The breakfast offered was incredibly good (but pricey), but there weren’t many options for lunch and dinner. Also, as an old building, there are some exterior deferred maintenance issues (lots of peeling paint, loose and rotten boards, etc.), not of which detracted from the experience. We loved this place.

Service was exceptional! Our only complaint was hot tub did not seem as clean as it should be and was not very hot.

Absolutely gorgeous property in a stunning setting. The food and drinks were fantastic.

This hotel is a beautiful historical property. That said, it has not kept pace with what travelers are looking for in the way of prices or convenience. Rooms are adequate with few amenities. Hours are inconvenient, prices astronomical. Other than coffee (only till 4pm), there is nothing free or even reasonably priced.

Hotel is very dated and over priced for what you get. The restaurant was also below average and expensive. If more was included or rooms updated it would be worth it.

It is a beautiful hotel with a gorgeous view.

Grand old hotel loaded with atmosphere and history Spectacular setting

Iconic

Bathroom had soap scum and gross tile and moldy caulking in the shower, what looked like a tiny blood or ketchup stained wiped on the wall, a wrapper that didn’t belong to us on the floor. Heard the bass from the wedding shaking our room when we were trying to take a nap. Toilet paper was thin and awful. Guests were friendly and staff was great. The area is gorgeous. Saw a Fox dart across the parking lot at dusk. Lots of cute wildlife. But we paid $100 for a night at a motel in North Conway that had a way nicer bathroom at a third of the price of this place but I guess you pay for the grounds. Also there was a bandaid in the pool.

The property is always impeccably clean and the service is top notch! Amazing time

Unique, comfortable, relaxing lodging. Our room was a bit small, and the thermostat/fan was really loud, waking me up every time it kicked on. The entire building is much too hot. Minor complaints though, because the food, staff, and location are excellent.
