The room was clean, the bed was not. The hotel was not in a "safe" area. There was gun fire near the hotel the first night. We only use our hotels as sleeping spots (meaning when we on 'vacation' we explore and don't hang out at the hotel. Hard to sleep when the bed is AWFUL. The bed was soft, but it was so bowed and dipped in the middle that sleeping was nearly impossible. The employees were all super friendly, so that wa s plus.
This property is a motel, not a hotel. It is located across the street from a truck stop. Upon arrival, a car was parked toward the back and people were jumping in and out of a window. The manager would not respond, as a refund was requested. Very unsafe environment.
It took me 3 attempts to find the hotel and when I found the hotel, it has the appearance of being a motel. I asked the clerk, if I can look at the room first before checking in. The hallway had a smell, the carpet looked old in need of replacement. Upon opening the door to the room, there was no light switch near the door. So I has to turned on one the light in the room, as I walked on the floor I could tell the floor seem buckled or un-level near the bathroom. I found the hotel to be unsatisfactory to meeting my needs. Since I booked using the option of paying the room at the hotel, I informed the clerk to cancel my reservation and please don’t change my credit card. Just waiting to make sure no charges show up on my credit card.
