Padre Oaks

This motel is a poor value. Not convenient to any Monterey attractions. The room had no drapes, just louvres that let in light. The furniture was beat up. The breakfast was plastic and sub-par. However the worse part of the stay was that there are only 19 parking places for 20 units. Night attendant showed attitude when I pointed out this was inadequate. Not comfortable around people, I guess. Please find another business, proprietors of Padre Oaks.

We needed a place to stay at the last minute because our original hotel was horribly disgusting. This place followed through and helped us out.

Needs updates considering how much they charge per night. Shower was the worst. Shower head was old and was plugged up with bunch of build up. Pictures are definitely deceiving.

Very noisy ... Poor looking , water at bathroom no pressure , dirty room

Perfect place to stay when you are looking for an affordable room to stay in Monterey. Room are clean, staff is sociable and they even include breakfast.

The women who checked us in was very rude. I had my best friend and god daughter come to visit me and the women stood in the parking lot and watched her and questioned her about why she was there and how long she would be there. I truly did not care for tje rudeness.

Had a booking at very short notice. A good value for money hotel. However, experience with stuffs were not helpful. Didnt pickup phones, refused to show the room saying they were busy doing somehting inside (where is loud laughs were heard from inside the reception), someone (very rude) started knocking in all the room doors warning the checkout time etc..

If you are looking for a clean but inexpensive motel, this is the place for you. No frills but close to area attractions at a great price.

Very convenient location, with a shopping center nearby. The room is small, not very comfort, but OK for this price.

The hotel staff wasn't very friendly or welcoming, the outside of the hotel looks a bit better than the inside, the room we stayed in was very outdated. The bed was average, I noticed the box spring was second hand and it even had a tag on it that said so and that kind of makes me wonder about Bed Bugs, the tv is an old boob tube, the table was old and wobbly, the chairs were old and uncomfortable, the bathroom was ok but the shower had a buildup of comet cleanser in the grout of the tiles. I wouldn't recommend staying here to anyone. If you were in a pinch maybe. There are plenty other Hotels on Munras Avenue to choose from.

Clean and great location. The room was extremely affordable.

Small room with micro-fridge and coffee maker. Very clean, towels were not threadbare. Area VERY quiet after hours. Pillow uncomfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Padre Oaks was just right for our two day getaway. good location, clean and an unexpected value.

This hotel was great! Staff was very nice, room was nice and clean. Was very close to Monterey bay aquarium & downtown area. It may not be a fancy hotel but like I always say all you need is a place to sleep and shower. But really great hotel. Also parking is right infront of your room. I highly recommend it!

I needed to stay 1 night in Monterey so I could be fresh for an 8:00AM job interview. Padre Oaks had the best price, and I was very happy with the room. It had a queen size bed, TV, Microwave, Small Fridge and Coffee Maker. The only thing missing was an alarm clock. I called the front desk and they arranged for a wake-up phone call for me. The bathroom contained soap and towels, but no shampoo or lotion. The location is right across from a major shopping mall that includes a movie theater and Whole Foods grocery. I am unemployed, and I felt this was money well spent in my effort to get a job in Monterey.

The room was very inexpensive. It was small, but acceptable. It was old fashioned. It wasn't as clean as one might want. If you can get an additional deal on the pricing, this place is fairly ideal for the frugal.

Pleasant stay. No breakfast was included. Restaurants were nearby in the mall. Stayed 1 night and then went to Monterey aquarium and 17-mile drive, both easily accessible from hotel. Friendly staff. Very good value.

Not that great. And also the key card didn't work the next morning BEFORE our checkout time. :(

We were looking for something cheap, and this ended up being the cheapest rate for the night. Not a shabby place but you do get what you pay for. None of the appliances worked, and when the heater was turned on the whole room smelled gross.

They made an unauthorized charge to my credit card, claiming I had stolen a coffee cup when I denined it they then sid it was a coffee jug???? This is an outright lie. They had not made proper battery maintaince on the smoke alarm which awakened me at three AM.
