The room above when they took a shower water was leaking from the ceiling into our bathroom floor early 8am couldn’t go inside because there was water all over the bathroom floor couldn’t get to shower I all most fell down had to leave our room. There was no one there to clean up the mess we didn’t get another room they cleaned up late so we left the next morning early before someone took a shower above us they were no help at all about giving us another room never will go back paid so much money for them not to even give me another room

1) Leaky toilet. 2) Loud fridge. 3) Loud air conditioning. 4) Loud hotel guests walking above us. 5) Our blanket wasn’t warm enough, but the heater made too much noise. 6) My key didn’t work. 7) The hotel staff was rude. 8) No one ever cleaned our room. 9) The coffee machine leaked. 10) This was our 30th year staying at the Mariposa (because it’s only a block from our sister’s house and she hosts Thanksgiving every year). This hotel USED to be wonderful, but there is no pride of ownership and it is obviously run down. None of our family will ever stay there again.

The room was very nice and clean, the bed was lumpy, and the pillows were not soft. The pool/spa area was nice, breakfast was also better than expected, however they only had one toaster. The clerk at check is was not delightful.

It was just okay… but I won’t be back. The staff was so rude !! All the ladies who worked the front desk were extremely rude. The elevator door shuts on you. Even if you put your arm in front of it, it starts to shut so when using the thing to wheel luggage in, it’s super scary. But my main reason for not going back is , I left at 7:30am the day of check out (check out is at 11am) I was back at 9:30am to pack our stuff up and check out. My key wouldn’t work. I tried several times over and over. I went downstairs and they for whatever reason deactivated my key. So I go back upstairs and right when I turn the corner to my room, I see staff coming out of my room in like a hurry . Like she opened the door and came out then shut it!! It just didn’t sit right with me. Check out is at 11. Why is my key card not working and staff in my room at 9am??

This is a nicer motel, which makes sense for the pricing. I was looking for a clean place to sleep at an affordable price. This place is definitely on the older side with no extra amenities. However, it is a clean place to stay. If you plan on staying here for more than sleeping, I would recommend a different place. Pros: -clean room -reasonable price -cute area (lots of trees) -simple continental breakfast (basic cereal and bagels) -working heater and air conditioner Cons: -there was free WiFi but it didn’t reach our room -our room smelled heavily of bleach/cleaning agents but was fine once aired out -no cellular service -the pillows were thin and the only “blanket” were sheets (this didn’t bother us since we brought our own pillows and blanket

The toilet was leaking, and had been for some time judging by the wall and base boards. The wall had a tear in the drywall and it was wet. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Staff was nice, and they had robes and slippers available. But they really need to take care of lots of deferred maintenance.

want to start by giving credit where it’s due: the hotel itself is very clean, and the bathroom in the executive room was honestly the highlight of my stay. It was modern, spacious, and very well maintained. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end for me. I booked an executive room expecting a more comfortable, upgraded experience, but the layout was extremely disappointing. The “living room” area felt awkwardly placed and completely disconnected from the rest of the room. It didn’t add value, and it definitely wasn’t worth paying extra for. I understand this might sound nit-picky, but for the price, I expected something that felt intentionally designed—not something that looked like unused extra space added as an afterthought. Another major issue was the lack of 24/7 staff in the lobby. I had an emergency with my key card suddenly stopping working, and instead of being able to walk downstairs and get help as you would in most hotels, I had to call someone to come reopen and reset it. It’s frustrating and concerning that a hotel wouldn’t have someone available at all times, especially for situations like this. But my biggest complaint, by far, was the bed. I don’t know who decided to use this cheap, flimsy metal frame to support the bed, but it was genuinely one of the worst sleeping experiences I’ve ever had. The bed made extremely loud noises with even the slightest movement. Every toss or turn sounded like a metal crash. I was on the third floor and I actually had

Our room was very clean and comfortable. We loved having a fireplace! We also selected this property because it had a heated pool, and a hot tub. We enjoyed both! It had a convenient location that was very close to all the things we wanted to do while we were in Monterey, and was directly across from a shopping center that had a grocery store, a coffee shop and a number of other fun businesses.
