Property is very beautiful - more beautiful than I remember. Our last stay here was in 2016 and the hotel looks updated and definitely busier than before. The rooms are clean and updated - it has a cabin-like feel/japanese zen vibe. . Dined at the onsite restaurant as well and food was so much better than I remember. Our server was also very friendly and efficient. Downside was the hospitality of the people. Front desk was not warm and welcoming. The lady at the front desk was giving off the vibe thaf you were an inconvenience. I thought that was a one off. The host at the restaurant was the same. Quite disappointed wity the level of service from 2 stations that should be representing your hotel and brand. We love this hotel and have been visiting since 2013. Some areas have improved greatly but the service people, except our dinner server, were the biggest downers.

We like hotels. But, what's up with the resort fee, for water and coffee? What if I don't drink coffee? The room does not even have bottled water when we arrived. SMH.

I loved every part of my stay here. Only downside was finding parking on the property close to our building/room. But considering the room they gave us we couldn’t complain about the distance/walk when we had to park farther away.

My daughter and I wanted to explore Monterey, Carmel and the surrounding areas and we picked the perfect place! From the time we checked in to the time we left we couldn’t have been happier. Cleanliness of the rooms was not what I would expect from a 4 star property. Same goes for the grounds, pieces of trash all over parking lot. Staff was nice, no problems there. Would not return.
