Overall it our stay was good. the property is clean and in good condition. Our first disappointment was upon our arrival. We found construction going on in the drive and no clear direction or signage on where the reception was for check in. We also arrived on a rainy Monday and it was clear the hotel was not sold out so an early check in was possible at 2pm but was still told they would “check” to see if there was availability. Then due to the construction breakfast or brunch on the property was not an option but an alternative was not offered. On our last night there was power washing going on outside and it well into the night, making difficult to sleep. Also, on check out day (which check out is at 12) we had housekeeping knocking on our door at 9:40.

Title: A Mixed Experience at Casa Munras Garden Hotel & Spa I recently stayed at Casa Munras Garden Hotel & Spa, and my experience was just okay. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Monterey, with easy access to attractions and ample parking. The beautifully landscaped grounds add charm to the property. However, the room felt dated, with tired decor, worn furniture, and dim lighting. Thin walls also made it challenging to enjoy a peaceful stay. Additionally, while the front desk said the pool was heated to 80 degrees, a note at the entrance indicated the heat was out of order, which was disappointing. Overall, Casa Munras has some redeeming qualities, but for the price, I expected more modern amenities and better service. While it suits those prioritizing location and outdoor ambiance, those seeking a more contemporary experience might look elsewhere.

⭐⭐ Disappointing for accessibility and value We stayed here Thanksgiving weekend 2025. While there were some positives, the experience did not meet expectations. Despite clearly explaining mobility issues (including recent hand surgery and an adult with mobility limitations), we were placed far from stairs on steep cement steps that were difficult and tripping hazards. Accessibility was not handled well. The room felt dated: very old carpeting, a noticeable odor (possibly cleaning-related), and a loud heater by the window. Beds were extremely comfortable, and the TV casting feature was nice, though it required staff assistance. The refrigerator also needed adjustment after check-in. There is no microwave and no breakfast beyond basic coffee and water, which effectively forces guests to use the on-site restaurant. While the food quality was excellent, it was very expensive and did not accommodate dietary restrictions well, including during the Thanksgiving menu. The pool was nice, but no hot tub was available. Billing required follow-up when an extra night of parking was incorrectly charged to my son and had to be refunded. Most staff were polite, but the front desk was not particularly welcoming or helpful. While parts of the stay were enjoyable, the lack of accessibility, added costs, and aging rooms make this hard to recommend. For Christmas 2025 we found a nicer nearby hotel with suites instead of rooms at the same price, better location, and far better accessibility.
