Perfectly fine but not outstanding. Noisy corner traffic wise but walkability to the wharf, Bay trail, downtown shops and restaurants is excellent. Room carpet a bit tired but decently outfitted. Small bathroom but fairly recently renovated. Ample free parking in underground garage.

Great location! Dated but very nice 70’s style motel. Walking to DT Monterey and ample parking garage. Comfy room that is clean and quiet. Great and friendly customer service! I would definitely stay again. No frills but for the location the price is right!

The hotel is centrally located. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. The room’s decor was a time capsule from the 70’, very well maintained and clean. It was a large room.

This hotel is just "OK" and is a glorified motel. I am not sure why so many people gave it such high ratings. For over $350 a night I expected a lot more. We asked for a quiet room but our room was super noisy. The hotel is surrounded by streets on three sides and we heard traffic and cars reviving most of the night. We also heard a super loud banging of what I am guessing was a door to the cleaning area or employee area opening and closing all night and day. If this is a quiet room, what are the regular rooms like? Additionally, we asked if we could check out 1 hour later and were told it would be $75 for that. I have stayed at lots of hotels much nicer than this one and have never been charged a fee to check out 1 hour later. The rooms are pretty run down and our shower had a rusted out shelf in it. The room had a mini fridge but no freezer in it and no microwave. The manager at the front desk was not that helpful or friendly either and he and his colleague seemed more concerned with chatting to themselves about politics or something than actually helping the guests. I won't be staying here again. For the price I will stay somewhere else that is quieter, more friendly, and has better amenities.

We stayed at the Stevenson Hotel AFTER the Labor Day holiday, and so there was not any huge crowd in town…. We walled to Fisherman’s Wharf and walked to breakfast in downtown Monterey….. Lots of great breakfast options in downtown. We drove 4 minutes to the Cannery Row and had a great dinner and went to the Aquarium…. The Stevenson Hotel had underground parking and so felt safe staying on the upper floor using the elevator… no problem…. Great massaging showerhead…. Clean rooms

Property was as advertised. Parking was easy and great, as long as your vehicle doesn’t have too much height to it. The underground parking isn’t very high.
