it was a great hotel, clean, very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable and very attractive hotel especially the patio in the back.

The king size bed was comfortable Price affordable Free breakfast was decent

A fine place for an overnight. Clean, pretty comfortable, good for a motel type property.

Stayed only one night. Walking distance to Wharf. Breakfast/continental was basic. Overall was comfortable, Other nearby spots have better, serviced breakfast.

Had issue with bill and manager was rude and had 0 customer service went round and round with her till I demanded to see hotel policy stating purpose of extra charges then finally she decided to work with me

comfortable room, parked close, walking distance to downtown and restaurants. Fire dept. across street was unexpected.

Cute, comfortable room with fire place, microwave and refrigerator. Pillows were lumpy and the tv was stuck on one channel for our whole visit - the only downsides. Loved the location, snacks in the lobby, and free, accessible parking. Would visit again!

The lady behind at the desk was very rude. she was white with blonde hair, someone needs to train her on proper customer service.

Liked having the small patio as an option to get out of the room for some fresh air as well as the many benches around the property. The staff were very friendly. Loved having the hot beverages and snacks available any time the office was open! The Embassy Suites had been our go to place to stay for a number of years, but we have now found a new one.

Had a good stay, liked the fire place. Old town Monterey is nice to walk around.

Would come back. Breakfast a little weak, but I'm bat a breakfast person.

The Colton Inn is located just a short distance from all the downtown attractions in Monterey -- easy walking distance. But that helps it be a much better price than other places! The room was large and comfortable, with its own little balcony which would be nice in the summertime. Plenty of places to eat downtown.

Close to everything. Friendly and helpful staff. I was very pleased with my stay. Highly recommend staying here.

Room was clean, glad to have the wireless internet. Hair dryer didn't work to well and was about to fall off the wall. Couldn't find a heater in the room or a thermostat to turn on heater as it got cold in the early evening. Luckly we had a room with a fireplace that had a 3 hr duro log which helped warm the room some. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Good location proximity to many sites for shopping touring. Dining. Nice balcony .Room clean quiet. Adequate continental breakfast and afternoon coffee and cookies. Staff helpful and friendly. Return visits warranted.

The room was clean and the basics covered but the staff has no sense of customer service. I arrived early to check in (knowing that I was early but thought I'd see if my room was available) and was practically scolded for arriving at that time. Upon the day of my checkout, I had the 'Do Not Disturb' tag on my door, yet was approached by both a housekeeper and the front desk before check out time to see when I'd be leaving. I understand they might be under pressure from their bosses to turnaround the rooms quickly, but none of this should be put on the customer. If you just want a good place decently located to crash for the night, The Colton Inn is fine. But if you want to feel welcomed in Monterey, you might want to review other options.

Price for location is awesome, we have stayed there before. Disappointed with mattress and water not hot enough for a bath, no instuctions for use of whirlpool jets in tub, and no balcony.

Hotel is in close vicinity of everything. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel rooms overlook parking lots. Continental breakfast minimal. Wireless internet wasn't working and/or slow while we were there. Decent motel for the money. Good size room with fireplace was nice.

The accommodation was excellent and provided a great venue for our overnight stay.

We booked 2 king-size bed rooms for 3 adults and 1 child. Location and parking is very good. You can bring your breakfast to your rooms, which is more convenient for us. The only flaw happened to me is the comforter is too hot to cover in summer time. I slept better after changed to lighter blanket around 3am.
