I made reservation for a King bedroom. None available. I was given option to upgrade to 2 queen beds and pay for the difference, or downgrade to 1 queen bedroom with no refund. Meaning, they were able to get $$ upfront, but no discout if accept downgrade room. So, I cancelled the reservation. Be careful!

A plunger was next to the toilet which I thought was odd. I wanted to take shower but the tub immediately started filling with water so it was clogged. Poor sink pressure that I didn't even wait to get hot. The TV wasn't operational as the staff member told me after three trip to the front desk and I was told to use the smaller tv in the next room. I was given a suite because I was given a room that was already occupied initially. The staff member told me that the key card wasn't working because the sensor needed a battery change. While doing this battery change task, someone appeared behind the window(the occupant). How or why on earth did they get such a high rating is beyond me. Never again. 200 bucks for the most frustrating experience and sleepless night. Get some black shades.

Great hidden gem for the price especially for families. The only thing is there are no black out curtains so the light from the hallway shined into the room all night long.

El Castell is a retro motel, recently renovated into an amazing boutique motel. Very clean, modern rooms. Staff are all incredibly kind, professional and efficient. The pricing at El Castell is well worth the stay!! This hotel is close to shopping, restaurants, and other experiences. Would definitely stay here again!
