I usually don't book motels, but I decided to take a chance on El Castell given all the positive reviews. I came for the Monterey Bay Half Marathon and everything worked out perfectly. The room was clean and well lit, and the mattress was pretty comfy. Would stay again!

It’s always hard to tell on the internet but this is a nice place. We booked on Expedia and they put us in an accessible unit. It was very roomy, updated, and had a huge bathroom and shower. Everything worked without any issues. They had large bottles of hand/body soap, shampoo, and lotion. They also had a mini fridge, microwave, & Keurig coffee maker. It was quiet, centrally located, and easy accessible to restaurants, fast food, supermarkets, liquor stores, banks, etc. Staff were friendly. It was just my wife and I so there was plenty of room for 2 people, but maybe not more than that.

Good decent hotel. This time we got a room in the back and it was much quieter than the rooms closer to the street. Small room but just enough for an overnight stay. The room was clean and bed was comfy. Bathrooms came with hair dryer and amenities.
